Job Description

Alira Health Transaction Advisory Team is a team of approximately 20 consultants specialized in the healthcare industry who can lead, manage, and execute a broad range of transactions including sell- and buy-side M&A and licensing projects as well as capital raises for Biotech-, Pharma-, and MedTech clients. The Transaction Advisory Team is integrated within Alira Health’s Consulting practice, a group of around 200 consultants supporting clients on strategic projects including corporate strategy, market opportunity assessments, global market access strategies, country launch planning and sequencing.  

 

The Transaction Advisory Team supports clients in:  

  • Sell-Sie M&A 

  • Buy-Side M&A 

  • Carve-Outs  

  • Out-licensing 

  • In-licensing  

  • Capital raise 

 

THE PRINCIPAL ROLE 

  • Principal will lead the execution teams across multiple projects and will lead client engagements, including Business Development Activities in alignment with Partners and fellow Principals. 

  • Principals drive and execute business development activities, by strengthening the relationships with the existing client base, by participating to the proposal process and by generating new leads. 

  • Principals also contribute to corporate branding activities such as the optimization of internal processes, collaborating with other practice areas across Alira Health as needed.  

 

KEY RESPONSABILITIES 

Project Execution/ Billability (60%): 

  • Leads and executes multiple transaction advisory (Sell-Side & Buy-Side) projects of varying complexity at the same time, supports in the development of project plans and leads project execution until signing and closing of the deal. 

  • Has a clear understanding of the client’s needs, and, together with the Assigned Team, drives the execution efforts, including the approach, due diligence and negotiation phase along legal advisors and with the support of a Partner. 

  • Understands and anticipates potential issues and/or challenges arising during a transaction and manages those with the support of a Partner 

  • Posseses an in-depth understanding of the healthcare industry and of customary deal structures for development stage companies and mature businesses.  

  • Nurture and encourage teams to consider out-of-the-box solutions to address client issues 

  • Provide oversight and direction to staff aligned with the organization's policies / procedures, vision, mission statement, and values.  

  • Ensures the high quality and accuracy of deliverables. 

 

Business Development/ Corporate Initiatives (up to 25%): 

  • Actively collaborates in the development and fine-tuning of the relevant Transaction Advisory offering, integrated into communication activities and/or marketing plans to customers. 

  • Supports Partners in developing successful proposals and actively supports throughout the business development effort, from lead generation (passive role) to closing (active role). 

  • Nurtures existing clients relationships, including thought leaderships initiatives and opens opprtunities with new clients/ accounts. 

  • Supports company development activities by contributing to recruiting, knowledge management, technology systems, and related functions. 

  • Proactively mentors, coaches, and shares subject matter expertise with others to grow the collective Alira Health knowledge and ability to deliver differential solutions to clients. 

 

  • Attends and engages clients at specialized conferences. 

  • Actively collaborates in the development and fine-tuning of the relevant Transaction Advisory offering, integrated into communication activities and/or marketing plans to customers. 

  • Proactively mentors, coaches, and shares expertise with others to grow the collective Alira Health knowledge and ability to deliver differential solutions to clients.
