Responsibilities
Health Research, Inc. is seeking an Hourly Project Assistant II to work within the New York State Department of Health’s Bureau of Water Supply Protection. The incumbent will assist with program activities for a state-wide public health regulation, Part 4: Protection Against Legionella. The focus will be on provisions and activities related to Legionella in healthcare facilities.
Assist with entering, maintaining, cleaning, and statistical analysis of environmental and epidemiological data provided by healthcare facilities.
Participate in tracking investigations of healthcare-associated legionellosis cases, including reviewing documentation, maintaining event timelines, cataloguing case information, and improving and developing internal tools for evaluating associated data.
Assist in administrative activities related to healthcare facility compliance with Part 4.
Assist in preparing literature reviews, reports, publications, and presentations.
Provide occasional assistance in environmental sampling activities, including preparing supplies and equipment, sample collection, water quality measurements, delivery to laboratories, and follow-up.
Minimum Qualifications
Currently enrolled in a workforce training program or institution of higher education pursuing a related degree or certificate program within the past six months.
Preferred Qualifications
A current graduate student in epidemiology, environmental health sciences, or related field. Demonstrated Excel skills (formulas, pivot tables, summary statistics, and data visualizations) and knowledge of SAS.
Conditions of Employment
Grant funded, hourly position expected to last through 12/13/2024. Compliance with funding requirements such as time and effort reporting, grant deliverables, and contract deliverables, is required.
Valid and unrestricted authorization to work in the U.S. is required. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
This position requires that the incumbent will report to the official work location and live within commuting distance to the official work location. Telecommuting will not be available.
Travel, up to 10%, will be required.
