Project Description:
Support and assist the federal staff within all CISOD organizational units. The requirement includes cybersecurity policy, assistance for Cybersecurity related missions as required meeting DHS, OCIO, and CISOD strategic plans, mission goals and objectives. Will support sub-organizational units within the CISOD which include: Policy, Business Operations, and Cybersecurity Service Delivery Branches.
Position Description/Tasks:
Provide policy and audit support to the DHS CISOD.
- Writing, updating, editing, developing and/or formatting cybersecurity policies and procedures to formalize cybersecurity policy.
- Utilize leading practices and frameworks (NIST, FISMA, ISO, etc.)
- Identify and make recommendations for process and tool improvements.
- Evaluate and provide feedback for improvement to document content and processes.
- Publish security policies, work with organizational management to ensure accessibility, and ensure changes to policies are promptly and formally communicated.
- Works with a variety of stakeholders to continually improve quality solutions are provided to the client
- Researches, prepares, and edits technical documents
- Collaborates with corporate and government key stake holders to provide constructive feedback on presentations, white papers, contract deliverable documents, Standard Operating Procedures, etc.
- Performs quality control on all deliverables
- Manages templates to ensure consistent and repeatable representation of deliverables
- Prepares briefs and status reports as needed
- Takes ownership of continually improving and maintaining data quality by effective end-to-end data quality analytics, governance, monitoring, assessment, and enforcement
- Works independently with limited supervision
- Influences others regarding policies, practices and procedures
Required Skills:
- Active Secret Clearance
- (BA/BS) or equivalent experience and minimum 5 years of related work experience and Familiarity with Cybersecurity concepts.
- Experience in developing and publishing technical documentation
- Experience in developing and documenting technical processes
- Experience demonstrating strong analytical, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills for cybersecurity
- Substantive experience providing document/process development support for a cyber security organization
- 3+ years' technical documentation in Information security and compliance
- Utilize leading practices and frameworks (NIST, FISMA, RMF, etc)
- Strong knowledge and working experience within the security and risk methodologies, frameworks, and technologies
- Experience in technical documentation in Information security and compliance
- Thorough understanding of Information Security Compliance requirements
- Impeccable mastery of English language and grammar
- Master of MS Word, with very strong skills in MS PowerPoint and Visio
- Provide quality assurance, analysis, and reporting to ensure audit defensibility
Desired Skills:
- 3+ years of experience in some of the following ares:
- Developing, reviewing, or editing various cyber security documents
- Managing and performing quality best practices and standards
- Cybersecurity certification is preferred such as, CISSP, CRISC, CISA, CISM, CASP but not required
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Professional documentation, presentation and planning skills
- Excellent time management skills and proven ability to multi-task competing priorities
