About the team

Sustainability, External Affairs, Legal, Risk & Compliance develops and implements Telstra's sustainability strategy, and manages Telstra's public policy and engagement activities.
 

Role Purpose

As a Risk and Compliance Analyst, you play an important role in supporting your team to implement and enact key risk and compliance framework requirements, helping to safeguard our organisation. You take pride in ensuring Telstra is compliant with all internal and external regulations. You thrive on utilising your specialist risk and compliance management, audit and assurance knowledge and excellent collaboration and communication skills to make a strong contribution to your team.

Your keen attention to detail and exceptional analytical skills are applied on a daily basis to support management of our key business related risks and compliance obligations, mitigating non-compliance risk and protecting Telstra’s reputation.

Key responsibilities

  • Gather relevant sources of information to develop insights and data analytics to support the Risk and Compliance team measure risk and compliance effectiveness across the relevant Frameworks.
  • Support team-based planning and resourcing activities, leveraging adaptability and flexibility to facilitate efficiency and agility in assisting the Risk and Compliance team to deliver on their work requirements and objectives as required.
  • Take accountability for liaising with business stakeholders and members of the risk and compliance team to identify solutions to risk and compliance issues, using risk and compliance management knowledge and analytical thinking to seek guidance and input from others to problem solve.  
  • Actively contribute to support the delivery of outcomes and day-to-day activities within their team, assisting risk and compliance team members with a range of risk and compliance related tasks.
  • Support the business to manage their compliance obligations and business related risks in accordance with relevant frameworks.
  • Contribute to the identification and/or development and documentation of key controls across the top risks and compliance obligations.
  • Develop documentation of test plans for key controls.
  • Execute control tests and reporting on control effectiveness.
  • Assisting with the delivery of risk management and compliance communications, tools and training, including monitoring and reporting on training completion rates.
  • Leverages sound interpersonal and influencing skills to develop and maintain relationships within their team and across the organisation to work successfully with key internal stakeholders.
  • Contribute to ongoing technical self-development by proactively researching regulatory bulletins and other sources of information to stay up to date with regulations and rules.

About you

To be successful in the role, you'll have:

  • Relevant Tertiary qualifications or equivalent business experience.
  • Knowledge of operational risk and compliance frameworks.
  • Previous experience with control identification, design, and documentation.
  • Good communication and presentation skills.
  • Effective stakeholder management.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with to tight timelines.
