About the role:
To provide technical SME support to the day to day running and operation of the Settlements Team for FIS Platform Securities. To provide technical guidance, direction and support to the team, processing settlement instructions both domestically and internationally as well assisting management with client servicing. Maintaining and improving operational procedures. The incumbent will possess a passion for delivering excellent Client service, through their team’s efficient processes and demonstrating a proactive approach which can both influence and continually improve the way service is delivered and success is measured. The role will provide strong technical support, direction delivering on the training needs of the team ensuring raising standards and output within budget & to SLA. Working with other teams to share best practice, supporting each other to ensure all teams get the job done to quality and SLA.
The role provides a unique insight into the processes utilised to ensure a quick and seamless settlement of diverse ranges of instruments across multiple markets - a feature that continues to drive the settlement functions forward and remain as one of the UK leaders in the space. The role also provides a fantastic opportunity to work in a friendly and diverse team within a fast-paced start-up at the forefront of FinTech.
Key Responsibilities:
Trade Confirmation and Matching:
Confirm and match trade details with counterparties and internal systems.
Investigate and resolve any discrepancies in trade confirmations.
Settlement Processing:
Execute settlement procedures for trades in accordance with industry standards and regulations.
Monitor and manage settlement queues, ensuring timely resolution of outstanding items.
Making calls to counterparties to chase things up with them.
Reconciliation:
Conduct daily reconciliation of trade and settlement records to identify and rectify any discrepancies.
Collaborate with internal teams to address and resolve reconciliation issues.
Documentation and Record Keeping:
Maintain accurate records of all trade and settlement activities.
Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements regarding documentation and reporting.
Communication:
Communicate effectively with internal teams, customers, and external service providers.
Provide regular updates on settlement statuses and address inquiries in a timely manner.
Risk Management:
Identify and escalate any potential risks or issues related to trade settlements.
End of day checks
Customer Services
Monitor client channels and respond to queries around trading and settlements in a timely manner.
What you bring:
Know the Financial Services Sector coupled with a min of 5 years UK settlements experience.
Detailed understand of Euroclear Crest System.
Know the regulatory environment and associated risks that require managing
Understand the principles of Treating Customers Fairly
Understand the key drivers of Client Experience within an institutional environment
Excellent communication skills
