This person will be based out of Princeton, NJ and will be onsite 60% of the time.

The Role

  • Associate Director, Strategy & Corporate Development will support the Strategy & Corporate Development function at Genmab
  • Support activities to identify and guide Genmab’s strategic trajectory, priorities, and opportunities for organic and inorganic growth
  • Perform strategic and tactical work advising on new therapeutic areas and investments in adjacent technologies and capabilities
  • Support execution of M&A and late-stage licensing transactions against the company’s strategic plan
  • Identify and analyze relevant industry trends
  • Maintain relationships with key external partners (investment banks, consultants and financial auditors) and internal stakeholders (technical accounting, FP&A, treasury, tax)
  • Collaborate with the Business Development & Licensing team and provide supporting capabilities (including valuation, strategic insight, and deal modelling) to ongoing negotiations

Responsibilities
 

Strategy

  • Support Corporate Development activities that align to enterprise goals and objectives defined in the Corporate Strategy
  • Support execution of short and long-term strategy development and planning
  • Contribute to portfolio strategy development and planning through partnership with Commercial, Finance, and R&D
  • Collaborate on general Business Development & Licensing partnering strategy

Operations

  • Conduct active surveillance and support M&A target prioritization and evaluation activities
  • Facilitate the M&A transaction process including performing financial analysis, valuation, modelling, transaction structuring, due diligence, and executive presentations
  • Support deal negotiations with target management teams through execution
  • Provide quantitative analysis, input, and modelling for licensing and partnering transactions
  • Drive and manage cross-functional teams across the organization necessary to diligence and complete deal execution and integration planning
  • Support coordination and follow up on execution of integration plans versus deal model

Qualifications and Requirements

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in economics or finance or in life sciences with a passion for financial modeling
  • Advanced degree (MBA/MSc/ PHD) preferred, but not required
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Biotech/ Pharma or related industry with 2+ years in a Corporate Development, Business Development, Strategy or Finance role

Capabilities

  • Deep knowledge of corporate finance, financial modeling, and valuation
  • Demonstrated knowledge of biotech/pharma industry
  • Demonstrated strategic analysis and structured problem-solving skills
  • Experience and willingness in leading by influence a cross-functional team
  • Ability and appetite to work within ambiguous environments with imperfect information
  • Stress resistant
  • Team player
  • Experience in deal evaluation, structuring and contract negotiations considered a plus

For US based candidates, the proposed salary band for this position is as follows:

$138,750.00---$231,250.00

The actual salary offer will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Also, certain positions are eligible for additional forms of compensation, such as bonuses.
