What you will do
Johnson Controls' Norman, OK plant is a Rooftop Center of Excellence design, manufacturing and testing facility . The facility has been located in Norman, OK for nearly 50 years and will now serve as the flagship location for industry research, manufacturing and testing of Johnson Controls HVAC rooftop units. The 900,000-square-foot facility includes almost 400,000 square-feet of incremental laboratory and manufacturing space and renovations to over 150,000 square-feet of office and meeting space.
We are seeking an experienced Materials Buyer Planner to join our growing team. As a Buyer Planner for our Norman Plant, you will be responsible for the materials plan and execution for all new products, as well as the material depletion plan for all sunset products. This will involve working with the site materials and production teams to ensure minimal obsolete inventory impact from sunset products, and on-time delivery to the product launch schedule for new products.

How you will do it
Develop a robust project plan for each specific new product introduction as it relates to the procurement, and execution of the materials through the operation.
Monitor, track and report on adherence to the project plan through clear assignment of actions with owners and dates.
Monitor and track inventory levels of raw, WIP, and finished goods for incoming and exiting products.
Coordinate with engineering, materials, and manufacturing to strategically utilize all materials that are marked for obsolescence – natural depletion or active substitution.
Coordinates with Manufacturing, Production Schedulers, Quality and Engineering to assure that materials are on site in a timely manner to facilitate speedy and accurate parts availability to meet customer demands.
Maintains Replenishment signals to assure a smooth flow of materials to the Manufacturing floor and enable Operational efficiency.
Develops the handover process from a product being introduced to running in full production.
Manage consignment programs for materials and purchasing agreements for commodity items.
Maintains effective working relationship and communication with all departments.
Operates within budget and contributes to the overall need for being cost competitive.
What we look for
Required:
Bachelors degree or equivalent years of experience and 3 years of directly applicable, or a combination or education and experience.
SAP experience
Experience with managing suppliers
High volume/ high mix manufacturing experience
Preferred:
APICS Certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM) certification.
Experience with inventory forecasting, developing supplier schedules and reducing scheduling variances.
