What You’ll Get to Do:
CACI has an outstanding opportunity for a Voice and Network Engineer in support of the United States Department of Agriculture.  You will be providing operational support to Voice and Network functions within a converged network environment.  Engineers will also be supporting ongoing short and long term modernization projects for the Forest Service IT infrastructure.

More About the Role:

  • Plans, evaluates, and coordinates installation and/or reconfiguration of hardware and software elements of data and/or voice communication networks.
  • Designs, develops, and tests telecommunications software solutions.
  • Provides customer training of telecommunications features and functionality.
  • Familiar with a variety of field concepts, practices, and procedures.
  • Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
  • A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.
  • Reviews hardware inventory for networking phone systems.
  • Provides telecommunications support to the facility and other sites, performing work as requested by management.
  • Works with long distance and local vendors to coordinate installation of services.
  • Examines new services offered by vendors and makes recommendations to management
  • Works directly with switch vendors to facilitate repair, contracted maintenance and system upgrades.
  • Seeks out new systems, procedures and software for customer services that will enhance current capabilities.
  • Knowledge of supporting video over internet protocol solutions.
  • Maintains smooth operation of local area, worldwide and virtual private networks (VPN).
  • Performs other duties and assigned tasks as reasonably requested or required by management.
  • 24 x 7 on call support as required.
  • Work to be performed from remote location.


You’ll Bring These Qualifications:

  • Advanced knowledge of legacy PBX systems consisting of Mitel 200 EL/ML, Mitel 200-ICP, Nortel Option and CICs systems. 
  • Advanced knowledge of voice protocols such as loopstart, groundstart, e&m, T1, SIP and PRI circuits
  • BS degree in an IT or Telecommunications Field (experience can substitute for degree)
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in information technologies work and knowledge in one or more of the following technical areas: Networking, cloud, converged networks, voice, video, radio and data. 
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust 6C Clearance.



These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:

  • Must be able to obtain active Public Trust or Secret security clearance
  • Specialized industry and manufacturer certifications such as Mitel, Nortel or Avaya.

$78,000 - $163,800
