Job Summary

We are looking for a Business Development Principal to join our innovative team to help develop and offer consumers a next generation streaming platform, with a world-class user experience and navigation and all the top apps, bringing more choice to the streaming marketplace. You will be responsible for supporting revenue and product development initiatives across the business, evaluating business opportunities, and managing key partners. You will be responsible for establishing and maintaining the right set of external partnerships needed for Xumo to advance and achieve its goals.

Xumo, a joint venture between Comcast and Charter, was formed to develop and offer a next-generation streaming platform on a variety of branded 4K streaming devices and smart TVs. Powered by Comcast’s global technology platform, Xumo devices and services feature an entertainment experience designed to make it easy for consumers to find and enjoy their favorite streaming content through a world-class user interface and voice search, and for partners to meaningfully connect and engage with millions of consumers.

Job Description

Preferred Qualifications/Additional Info:

  • Position is focused on business development with operators and partnering closely with existing joint partnership entities, including Xfinity, to increase Xumo device distribution
  • 10 years work experience in business development partnerships, contract negotiations, with a finance/product management understanding/background as a key contributor driving business growth.
  • Experience within streaming/video technology industry a plus.
  • MBA program a plus.
  • Position is office based in Philadelphia, PA, 4 days/week & 1 day remote.
  • This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship.  Applicants must be authorized to work for Comcast in the United States without a current or potential future need for sponsorship.

Core Responsibilities

  • Responsible for developing various business models to drive adoption of the Xumo platform.
  • Effectively manages existing operator relationships with a focus on driving an increase in device distribution.
  • Drives deal making, negotiations, contract drafting. 
  • Present analysis, studies, and strategies to senior leadership.
  • Creates actionable insight and understanding, through the analysis of both quantitative and qualitative data, building recommendations that directly address business objectives.
  • Maintains and develops working relationships with new and existing external partners and ensures cross functional alignment with the product, engineering, sales organization as well as the organization’s overall operating plan.
  • Develops strategic point of views on key partnership topics.
  • Performs and supports business planning as necessary.
  • Provide guidance on the development of strategic planning and the day-to-day management of strategic partners.
  • Formulates the partnership roadmap in conjunction with internal stakeholders.
  • Carries out regular and robust monitoring of projects to ensure quality delivery of outputs and activities.
  • Reports on the outcomes and impact of partners and projects internally to assist with program development.
  • Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance.
  • Regular, consistent and punctual attendance. Must be able to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) as necessary.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
