This position will lead the Engineering activities of complex multi-product integrated projects, providing technical support to the Project Manager, assuring adherence to the Water Infrastructure processes and procedures and ensuring the process and equipment in our scope of supply meet the specification and the client’s satisfaction while optimizing our financial performance.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities:
Responsible for all Technical and some commercial aspects of the project
Production of design deliverables such as datasheets, drawings, proposal documents, and Material submittal documents (either by the engineer or through the management of others).
Review specifications and drawings to ensure that scope is implemented in line with best practice and with the contract specification.
Equipment selection
Working with suppliers to obtain quotations, place orders, fulfill contracts, including activities such as FATs.
Help to maintain and improve contract margins
Attend client sites/offices to carry out investigation, preparation, clarification, progression and installation of proposals and contracts as required
Ensure that all work carried out complies with established Company policies and procedures/Code of Conduct.
Adhere to company processes, quality standards, and company safety programs
Accountable for adhering to project document control processes and to ensure project files are complete for future reference.
Achieve annual appraisal (CPG) goals.
Is the Project Manager’s delegate.
Participate in local and regional Watermark (Corporate social responsibility) activities
To undertake any other duties as and when necessary to meet the varying demands of the business and satisfy customer needs.
Knowledge and Experience:
Experience and knowledge of water treatment processes and equipment and work experience of a progressively responsible nature in projects involving process equipment.
Experience in project engineering/management
Ability to read, understand and apply engineering specifications and drawings
Extensive knowledge of Engineering, Procurement, Project Controls and Construction work processes.
Excellent interpersonal skills, written and oral communication skills in English, (other languages a plus) analytical skills, problem-solving skills and a focus on customer service.
Ability to manage their own time and prioritise tasks to ensure completion in a timely manner
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
Ability to use CAD packages beneficial
Diploma or above in an Engineering discipline.
