OVERVIEW:

The Director of Marketing - Financial Planning & Analysis is a strategic thinker with a proven track of leadership and collaboration.  The role is responsible for the financial support of our growing Retail Media Network and Loyalty programs. The Director will work with cross-functional senior leadership to create and recommend business investments, initiatives, systems and processes to support program growth.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Budgeting and Forecasting
    • In collaboration with business partners, direct the annual budget cycle capturing growth projections and investments.
    • Manage the routine forecasting cycle.  Drive insights to forward-looking outcomes and provide alternate scenarios.  Establish actionable insights that help achieve business goals.  Summarize and communicate forecast changes to Executive Leadership. 
    • Lead the monthly financial close process (for the Retail Media Network only), ensuring proper treatment of revenue streams and compliance with financial controls. 
  • Business Support
    • Help shape and influence the long-term strategy. Work with cross-functional leaders to build multi-year business growth plans, build business cases and understand the ROI of proposed investments. 
    • Develop agile and driver-based financial models that enable seamless scenario analysis that illustrates the impact of organic growth and new revenue streams or expense structures
    • Provide insights on the return on our investments, and identify outcomes that would influence profitability
    • Establish monthly business reviews with key stakeholders to review the portfolio, provide insight to financial performance, and discuss focus areas or topics needing a business decision.
    • Partner with senior leadership in RMN and Loyalty, as well as various areas of Finance including FP&A, Accounting and Treasury.
  • Financial Analysis
    • Support the business through analysis of current trends, opportunities, processes to drive efficiencies and understand ROI, financial, and operational impacts of ongoing programs well as new projects.
    • Work with Senior Management to review and build business cases; present results and recommendations. The ad hoc projects will support new business initiatives, store growth, expense reduction opportunities, and process / system improvements.
    • Works cross-functionally (within and outside of Finance) to understand and leverage team processes and outputs, including ways to expand the value add to the business.

  • Reporting
    • Prepares reporting and analysis in areas such as budgets, forecasts, and financial plans. Reporting audience includes Executive Management Team and Board of Directors.
    • Develop and deploy KPIs to understand trends and deviations from expected results.
    • Benchmarks internally and externally to ensure that processes and analyses are reflective of latest trends.
    • Develops PowerPoint presentations that summarize and visualize financial and KPI trends, conclusions, and recommendations.

  • Long Range Planning / Financial Modeling
    • Develop and maintain long term financial models to ensure they support overall business objectives.
    • Model and analyze alternative structure of new real estate and/or market opportunities.
    • Evaluate viability of potential investment opportunities, including IRR and NPV analysis of the projects. Support management in evaluating M&A opportunities.
    • Conduct post audit reviews of investments for comparison to expected results.
    • Support financial modeling and analysis of new real estate and market opportunities.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A minimum of 7 yrs related experience required, Retail background a strong plus

  • Previous experience leading and developing a high-performing team

  • Advanced spreadsheet and modeling skills required; adept at learning and applying technology tools and resources - PeopleSoft, Hyperion, MicroStrategy (or equivalent best-in-class ERP tools)

  • Ability to evaluate and manage priorities and deadlines in order to support unscheduled analysis and projects. Flexible to adapt to changing priorities and able to adjust schedule accordingly.

  • Detail oriented with strong process development skills. Ability to identify existing or potential deficiencies in operating processes or procedures, recommend solutions, and proactively seek continuous economic and operating efficiencies. Excellent analytical skills and able to identify opportunities and provide solutions.

  • High sense of urgency and ability to identify solutions to advanced, time sensitive challenges by balancing achievement of process objectives with practical considerations - Strong communication skills and the ability to interact with all levels of management and the ability to influence processes across multiple functions and stakeholders.
