Job Description Summary:

The Sr Advisor (Director), Culture and Engagement leads and directs efforts that will advance our culture and associate value proposition in support of our organizational strategy and associate engagement objectives.

Field of Study: HR or related
Years of experience: 10

SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE

  • HR or a related field required.
  • Approximately 10 years of HR or related Experience required.
  • Experience leading culture, associate value proposition, engagement, and/or large scale change initiatives is a plus.

DESIRED ATTRIBUTES

  • 10+ years of experience in a role identifying, designing, and executing culture programs and strategies across multiple functions, regions or geographies.
  • 5+ years managing and developing resources.
  • Experience interacting and partnering with senior business leaders.
  • Effective project management skills to formulate a plan of action and effective execution of the plan.
  • Experience partnering with external vendors, including contract negotiations, to deliver high-quality programs and services.
  • Demonstrated leadership ability in a fast paced, high stress business environment.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills; ability to craft and deliver concise, data-driven messages across organizational levels.
  • Strong informing skills; ensures leaders and partners have the information they need to make decisions and execute on program priorities.
  • Drives results.
  • Excellent problem solving skills.
  • Works collaboratively and cooperatively across organizational boundaries.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources or Organizational Development required.
  • Master's Degree in Organization Development or related field preferred.

INFORMATION SECURITY
Maintains confidentiality of log-on password(s) and security of other authentication devices (e.g., key fobs, proximity devices, etc.).
Ensures privacy and security of information entrusted to their care.
Uses company business assets and information resources for management-approved purposes only.
Adheres to all information privacy and security policies, procedures, standards, and guidelines.
Promptly reports information security incidents to the OhioHealth Information Security Officer.
 

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

The incumbent will provide direction and leadership in the following areas:

  • Owns the Culture Strategy for the organization and aligns it with the OhioHealth business strategy.
  • Drives the implementation of organizational-wide culture development programs
  • Develops and leads the rituals, routines, rewards, and celebrations that ensure a culture that supports our overall strategy
  • Understands culture gaps across organizational units and works with appropriate leadership to achieve cultural alignment across all organizational units e. g. Hospitals, Corporate, etc.
  • Provides cultural guidance to other Learning and Leadership Development Programs to ensure consistent culture development across the organization e. g. New Associate Orientation, Leadership Development, etc.
  • Owns the recognition strategy and supporting programs for the organization, in support for the desired culture.
  • Owns the Associate Value Proposition and the specific programs that bring it to life.
  • Partners with the Talent Management Programs to ensure a consistent associate value proposition across the organization.
  • Thoroughly analyzes, understands and utilizes all available data including annual associate engagement survey and other ad hoc means to understand associate perspectives, culture gaps and emerging opportunities to create greater engagement
  • Seeks out best practices to enhance our culture, develop our employee value proposition, and increase engagement.
  • Uses learnings to introduce new concepts, programs and initiatives.
  • Provides direction, coaching, feedback, and support to continue to build a strong and effective team; leads associates who report into the function.
  • Manage the department budget to deliver solutions and services within established parameters.
  • Interacts with senior leadership on the planning, status, feedback, and results of cultural efforts.
  • Partners with senior business leadership, HR leadership, HR consultants and other stakeholders to ensure solutions meet or exceed business needs and objectives.
  • Operates as a key liaison with HR business partners to deliver and align cultural efforts across the organization.
  • Knows, promotes, demonstrates and fosters the OhioHealth culture, mission, and core values.
  • Ensures OhioHealth's culture is well integrated throughout HR's processes and systems, driving the recruitment and retention of people who are most aligned with our values.
  • Deploys the OhioHealth Employee Value Proposition and ensure its impact throughout the employee lifecycle
  • Designs, develops and executes a system to measure and provide feedback on the organizations desired culture.
  • Assesses turnover tends that are related to values, culture, and leadership.
  • Develops retention strategies.
  • Leads employee engagement surveys and related actions to foster engagement.
  • Identifies, promotes and implements internal and external employee engagement best practices
  • Ensures measures of leader accountability to live our values and culture are in place to consistently ensure we are extending and enabling our culture every day.
  • Works with business and HR to design and develop programs, communications, events, etc. for leaders, managers and employees that creatively and authentically reinforce our unique values and culture.
  • Implements the retention and recognition programs that support our diverse, multi-generational workforce.
