The Team

The Global Intelligence and Analytics (GIA) consulting team supports our clients with a comprehensive view of the geographies, sectors, and environments that shape the world in which they, their suppliers, and their customers operate. Our consultants design unique solutions drawing on an unparalleled breadth of data and insight spanning Economic Indicators and Forecasts, Global Risk & Development, and Maritime & Trade.

Responsibilities and Impact:

We are seeking a Senior Economic Analyst with exceptional quantitative skills to join our consultancy team. In this role, you will lead the development and enhancement of complex economic models, with a strong focus on time series analysis, econometric modeling, and scenario forecasting to deliver critical insights for our diverse client base. This position requires the application of rigorous quantitative methods to translate data into actionable, strategic solutions for clients.

As a key member of our team, you will collaborate with experienced consultants and economists driving business strategy across industries such as industrial/manufacturing, energy and mining, government, trade associations, and technology. You will be expected to innovate in modeling techniques and contribute to projects that shape clients’ growth strategies, assess risks, and effectively communicate insights.

In this role, you will:

  • Lead and apply advanced econometric techniques, including time series analysis and economic modeling, to develop scenario-based forecasts and sector-specific insights.

  • Design and implement quantitative models to assess macroeconomic and microeconomic impacts across industries, market segments, and regions, providing strategic recommendations for clients.

  • Synthesize and analyze large datasets from multiple sources, integrating complex data to produce accurate market segmentation and actionable insights that inform decision-making.

  • Develop and maintain advanced dashboards and data visualization tools using platforms like Power BI, Tableau, or similar, effectively translating complex quantitative analyses into accessible formats for senior leadership and clients.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality analytical reports and support the creation of comprehensive market and economic analyses that drive business strategy.

  • Contribute to business development by identifying new opportunities, supporting proposal writing, and engaging in thought leadership initiatives to expand the firm’s offerings and market presence.

Compensation/Benefits Information: (This section is only applicable to US candidates)

S&P Global states that the anticipated base salary range for this position is $80,109.00 to $140,477.25. Final base salary for this role will be based on the individual’s geographic location, as well as experience level, skill set, training, licenses, and certifications.

In addition to base compensation, this role is eligible for an annual incentive bonus.

What We’re Looking For:

Basic Required Qualifications:

  • Expertise in econometric techniques, with a strong focus on time series analysis, forecasting, and economic modeling, including demonstrated experience in building scenario-based and sector-specific models.

  • High proficiency in both EViews and R or Stata, with a proven ability to develop and implement complex econometric models that drive strategic decision-making.

  • Proficiency in managing and analyzing large datasets using economic and financial databases, with a deep understanding of key data sources and their application in advanced economic analysis.

  • Experience with data visualization tools, such as Power BI, Tableau, or similar platforms, with the ability to transform complex quantitative data into clear, actionable insights for senior leaders and clients.

  • Master’s degree in Economics, Finance, or a related quantitative discipline (PhD preferred but not required).

  • 4-6 years of experience in economic analysis, consulting, or a related field, with a focus on applying advanced quantitative methods to solve complex business problems.

  • Exceptional attention to detail and analytical problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage and deliver complex projects while maintaining high-quality, data-driven insights.

  • Self-motivated and results-oriented, capable of handling diverse, high-level assignments, with a commitment to contributing to the firm’s growth and client success.

Additional Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with advanced econometric techniques, including Generalized Method of Moments (GMM), Cointegration analysis, and Instrumental Variables (IV) Estimation.

  • Familiarity with economic modeling frameworks, such as Computable General Equilibrium (CGE) models and Input-Output (I-O) models.

  • Proficiency in machine learning techniques, such as neural networks, regularization methods, ensemble learning, and AI-driven econometric modeling.
