What you will do
Let’s do this. Let’s change the world. In this vital role you will partner closely with India Managing Director, their leadership team, and Global HR teams to design, deliver and drive HR programs for the country. This role will report to the Vice President of Workforce Strategy.
The successful candidate will have extensive prior experience of leading HR function for global capability centers preferably within biotechnology or Healthcare industry.
Strategic HR Leadership: Create and implement HR strategies aligned with the goals and objectives of the India Capability Center and Amgen Corporate HR. Partner with senior leadership to drive workforce planning, talent management, and organizational development initiatives that support strategic objectives. Lead the India Annual HR staff and financial budget plan.
India Capability Center Setup: Lead the establishment of the Amgen Capability Center, including defining the organizational structure, developing policies and procedures, building HR team, and implementing HR systems and processes tailored to the unique country specific needs.
Talent Acquisition and Onboarding: Lead the talent acquisition process for the India Capability Center, including workforce planning, recruitment, selection, and onboarding of top talent in partnership with the Global Talent Acquisition Leader. Develop employer branding initiatives to attract and retain high-caliber candidates across the country.
Staff Engagement and Retention: Design and implement programs to enhance staff engagement, satisfaction, and retention. Develop strategies to drive Amgen Leadership Attributes promote Amgen culture, foster diversity, and inclusion, and encourage staff wellbeing.
Performance Management: Lead all aspects of the Amgen global performance management process (MAP) for the India capability center, including goal setting, performance evaluations, and career development planning. Provide guidance and coaching to managers and staff to ensure alignment with organizational objectives and processes.
Learning and Development: Create and implement learning and leadership development programs to build capabilities and enhance staff skills within the Global Capability Center.
Compensation and Benefits: Oversee compensation and benefits programs for the Global Capability Center ensuring competitiveness and compliance with local regulations, market trends and corporate compensation philosophy.
HR Operations and Compliance: Oversee HR operations, policies, and procedures to maintain compliance with local regulations and company standards. Partner with legal, compliance and global HR shared services team to address employment-related matters and mitigate risks.
Staff Relations: Serve as a trusted advisor to India leaders and partner concern point for global staff relations team on investigations, including conflict resolution, disciplinary actions, and grievance handling.
What we expect of you
Basic Qualifications:
Doctorate degree and 5 years of dynamic HR leadership experience within capability centers or similar organizational entity experience OR
Master’s degree and 16 to 18 years of dynamic HR leadership experience within capability centers or similar organizational entity experience OR
Bachelor’s degree and 18+ years of dynamic HR leadership experience within capability centers or similar organizational entity experience
Consistent track record of developing and implementing HR strategies, programs, and initiatives that drive business results.
Prior proven experience in leading a team of HR professionals as a people manager.
Experience in setting up and leading the HR function for a capability center or similar organizational entity, including establishing policies, procedures, and systems from inception.
Solid understanding of HR standard methodologies, employment laws, and regulations in India.
Exceptional leadership, communication, interpersonal, and coaching skills, with the ability to build relationships and influence key collaborators at all levels of the organization across globe.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
