Job Description

Sustainable Growth Advisers, LP (SGA) is a SEC registered investment advisory firm based in Stamford, CT with over $25 billion in assets under management. The firm makes long-only, long-term investments in high-quality, profitable, secular growth companies (colloquially referred to as “free cash flow growth compounders”) in developed and emerging markets. We are fundamental investors who emphasize bottom-up research and in-depth understanding of companies and industries. The client base includes mutual funds, institutional accounts, and high net worth platforms.

SGA is looking for a highly motivated, organized individual to join our Operations team.

What you will do:

  • Oversee reconciliation support: Manage the team responsible for daily/month-end/quarter-end holdings and cash reconciliation, utilizing the Gresham Tech Reconciliation system.
  • Monitor client cash flow accounting: Ensure accurate processing of daily Mutual Fund redemptions/subscriptions and other client cash flow activity.
  • Manage corporate actions: Oversee the booking of corporate actions and ensure timely and accurate processing.
  • Support trading team: Lead the team in trade booking and post-trade reconciliations, providing guidance and resolving issues as needed.
  • Liaise with counterparties: Manage relationships with brokers and custodians, addressing open settlement issues such as trade discrepancies, mismatches, and trade fails.
  • Organize settlement instructions: Ensure that client information is up to date and that settlement instructions are organized and accurate.
  • Monitor post-trade systems: Oversee the monitoring of post-trade systems like DTCC CTM, DTCC Alert, and Gresham Tech Recon.
  • Generate trading reports: Supervise the generation of end-of-day trading reports using the Advent Axys Portfolio Accounting System.
  • Implement software improvements: Lead initiatives to improve software systems to accommodate business intricacies.
  • Respond to investor inquiries: Manage the team responsible for responding to ad hoc investor data requests and day-to-day investor inquiries.

What you have:

  • Degree in finance or accounting; 7+ years operations experience within the financial industry, preferably either in prime brokerage or fund accounting.

  • Interest in financial markets and deep understanding of the fund management business.

  • Supervisory skills and experience managing a small team, as this role involves overseeing other operations professionals.

  • Experience with Advent Axys, DTCC suite (CTM, ALERT), Gresham Tech Recon, and SWIFT messaging is strongly preferred.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong attention to detail.

  • Ability to work in a team-based dynamic environment, and multi-task.

  • Upbeat, optimistic, and demonstrate positive mental attitude.

  • Available to work late hours when required.

The starting salary range is $112,000 to $140,000.

The starting salary offer will vary based on the applicant’s education, experience, skills, abilities, geographic location, internal equity, and alignment with market data. This position is also eligible to participate in the annual discretionary incentive plan.
