Position Title: Engineering manager (Mechanical) 
Location: Bangalore, India

JOB PURPOSE:
To be the Mechanical technical expert for the engineering team in the design and development of complex, major engineering product or process projects in a manner to ensure products provide superior performance, durability, quality and serviceability.

JOB DUTIES: The Engg Specialist role is accountable for setting and delivering technical vision to meet the division’s product line’s requirements.  

Key areas of responsibility encountered in this role may include any or all of the following:
•    Plays a key role in the overall genset mechanical package development, integration and application.
•    Provide guidance to the team on Mechanical design and integration to ensure all requirements are met with regards to Quality, Velocity and Cost. 
•    Takes ownership of technical deliverables and lead rigorous technical reviews to ensure high quality deliverables. 
•    Works closely with cross-functional team in supplier collaboration of components.  
•    Understand technical requirements and creatively solves engineering problems
•    Creates a vision for use of Analysis and Simulation tools to compliment the physical testing of components and Gensets. 
•    Review and approves Design reviews and Test matrix
•    This position provides a platform for growth and leadership skills development.
•    Incumbent will have opportunities to guide a diverse cross function team to develop world class engineering solutions for our global products while gaining increased business management skills.
Required Qualification:
•    Proven technical leadership and experience in the design and development of Mechanical systems related to Genset enclosures, Base frames, cooling systems, structural sub systems, Noise attenuation components
•    Hands on experience with various tools and processes like: CREO, Team centre, Part number creation and release process
•    Experience of Diesel / Gas genset or similar automobile/machine products design, development, testing and certifications.
•    Understanding of International standards like ISO8528, UL2200, UL489
•    Must have thorough knowledge of the design and working of one or more of the following- Structural simulation, Validation of engine or Gensets, Mechanical subsystems design etc. 
•    Must be a team player with good communication and interpersonal skills
Desired Qualifications:
•    Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical engineering with more than 15 years of relevant experience, or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering with 10 to 12 years of relevant experience.
