The Executive Sec Senior provides administrative and secretarial support to a combination of Division/Department Chairs, Department Directors/Managers and/or faculty, residents and staff assigned to a Department.

The Executive Sec Senior performs a variety of administrative support function to include secretarial assistance with special projects and public/customer relations duties. Serves as a communications link for the department and medical center.

Licensure, Certification, or Registration Requirements for Hire: N/A Licensure, Certification, or Registration Requirements for continued employment: N/A Experience REQUIRED: Minimum of three (3) years of previous secretarial/administrative work experience in an office setting Previous experience with Microsoft Office applications and e-mail/calendaring software Experience PREFERRED: Four (4) years of previous secretarial/administrative work experience in an office setting Previous experience in a healthcare setting Education/training REQUIRED: High School Diploma or equivalent Education/training PREFERRED: Associates Degree in Business, Accounting or related field from an accredited program Independent action(s) required: Organizes work assignments and priorities with minimal supervision or direction. Manages the office area/functions; performs secretarial/administrative assignments; and communicates and interacts with a variety of internal and external customers. Coordinates and provides coverage in the absence of other secretarial personnel. Supervisory responsibilities (if applicable): N/A Additional position requirements: Individual must be flexible and able to make scheduling/work hour changes as necessary to meet the needs of the Department. If deemed an “essential employee”, must conform to VCU Health System Inclement Weather Policy.
