About the Role & Team 

The Stage Manager-Retail is a leadership position that is responsible for stage management of talented Cast in high-volume retail stores complex. In this role, you will ensure efficient and safe operations, drive a positive Guest experience, increase Cast engagement and safeguard our brand. This role strives to improve Guest service standards; recognizes/coaches Cast behaviors, and manages the business through Key Business Drivers. 

What You Will Do:

  • Demonstrate commitment to excellence and working in the operation daily, which includes interacting with guests and cast members and resolving any issues 

  • Maintain a positive attitude and strong cast focus to inspire, engage, coach and develop a diverse and talented team 

  • Recognize cast members and hold them accountable for delivering excellence in safety, courtesy, show and efficiency. Be a teacher and developer, take a sincere interest in the Cast and be vested in their success 

  • Exceed guest expectations that yield results and positive guest feedback 

  • Partner closely and collaborate with other leadership teams due to shared Cast base 

  • Participate in departmental meetings and communicate relevant information to cast members 

  • Make balanced day-to-day operational decisions that benefit guests, cast members and the demands of the business 

  • Monitor daily staffing levels and anticipate shift coverage needs based on demand. Drive and deliver daily results 

  • Support local projects and monitor any potential impacts to the guest and cast experience 

  • In addition, execute Resort initiatives relating to merchandise logistics, visual standards, and merchandise initiatives. 

  

Required Qualifications & Skills:

  • 1+ years of leadership/managerial experience, demonstrating professionalism and maturity 

  • Demonstrated strong verbal and written communication skills, including conflict resolution, problem-solving and decision-making 

  • Proven ability to lead effectively in a team environment, hold self and others accountable, as well as the ability to deal effectively with conflict with strong partnering and networking skills 

  • Demonstrated operational guest service experience and guest service skills 

  • Demonstrated strong organization, multi-tasking and time management skills with attention to detail 

  • Proficient in basic computer functions necessary to operate in a Windows environment and adaptable to new technology 

  • Ability to understand the impact of financial aspects of an operation (i.e. operating budget, revenue, labor, inventory systems, costs, etc.) Strong planning and organizational skills as it relates to the Key Business Indicators. 

  • Knowledge of retail sales techniques and practices 

  • Ability to be flexible with work schedule, including weekends, variable shifts and holidays 

  • Proven experience as retail manager in a high volume and fast paced environment 

  • Highly motivated and results-oriented 

  • Analyze, problem solve, and make appropriate decisions that realize effective results 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 1+ Years of experience in a leadership role within Retail (and/or Specialty Retail) with responsibilities for: 

  • Driving Revenue 

  • Effective Labor Management 

  • Visual Merchandising 

  • Cost Control 

  • Inventory Shrink/Loss Prevention 

  • High-level Customer Service 

  • Team Development 

  • Demonstrated leadership attributes: 

  • Business acumen, driving and delivering results, collaboration and integration, entrepreneurial mindset/ownership, heritage/legacy/brand knowledge, and versatility 

  • Prior experience leading in a union environment 

  • Bilingual skills 

 

Preferred Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience

The hiring range for this position in California is $70,000.00-$87,500.00 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
