Let’s introduce ourselves
Doshii helps hospitality venues clear their plates by getting their apps and point-of-sale (POS) systems talking to each other. For venues, that means less double-handling, errors, admin and confusion and more time to do what they do best. For their customers, it means a satisfying and seamless experience.
Doshii was launched in 2016 and is proud to be a part of the Commonwealth Bank’s venture scaling business, x15ventures. Partnering with some of the best and brightest hospitality POS and app companies in Australia, we now boast a highly-skilled, dedicated team based out of Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane.
About The Role
We are looking for a Senior Product Designer to join our Product and Growth domain, reporting to the Head of Product Development & Design. You will be on the tools, rolling your sleeves up to deliver the best experience for our customers and in turn, help Doshii achieve its objectives across acquisition, adoption, retention, revenue and margins.
In this role, you will use Customer Centered Design principles and methodologies to ensure we meet core customer needs on any device by offering Doshii’s products and services through an integrated, simple and easy-to-use digital experience.
Key Responsibilities
Design new features, continuously optimising for existing user interface designs
As part of an agile scrum team, act as the design SME, collaborate with scrum team members, attend ceremonies and champion customer experience objectives
Interview customers to understand their goals and objectives and ensure we are one step ahead of their needs and wants
Understand technical and business requirements and always strive to deliver intuitive and user-centered designs
Combine creativity with adherence and consistency to a design system
Create prototypes for new product ideas
Test new ideas objectively, leading the conversation with customer facts, not personal opinions
Conduct ongoing customer research to continually turn “good” to “great”
Produce flows, wireframes and interactive prototypes, including detailed documentation
Grow the visual identity of Doshii as a business, product and brand
Regularly review customer insights and analytics to better understand users, their goals and how they interact with Doshii’s features, products and partners
Understand the customer and business drivers, define UX metrics against those drivers, measure and report on results, followed by championing enhancements based on data analysis
Manage stakeholders including extensive contact with diverse groups including CEO, Sales, Marketing, Legal and Compliance representatives
Assist the Product Owners to scope, plan and provide estimates
Make trade-offs in an environment of often-conflicting objectives, e.g. deliver great experience to deadlines with fixed resources. Ruthless prioritisation and an ability to focus on key issues
Assist planning of user experience research and validation testing, including preparation of stimulus material, in collaboration with the wider Product domain
Contribute to and help implement and improve the Digital Experience best practices and standard operating procedures
Experience
The ideal candidate will bring the following qualifications and expertise:
5+ years of UI/UX experience crafting web experiences across devices
Proficient in using Figma is must and Adobe Creative Cloud is desired
Excellent attention to detail and focus on pixel-perfect designs
Strong understanding of front-end development technologies, including constraints and opportunities
Excellent listening and collaboration skills, including the ability to communicate visual design concepts to non-designers; work closely with other disciplines
Knowledge of customer centered design balanced with commercial acumen
Strong communication skills and able to present design in a clear and persuasive manner
Strong problem-solving skills to drive solutions at all levels of detail: from big picture to fine detail
Strong conceptual and interaction design skills, across responsive and native platforms
Strong skills in visualising solutions in productive ways e.g. flows, free-hand sketching, white-board facilitation, wireframing and prototyping
Experience conducting and utilising customer research, usability testing, behavioral or digital analytics to drive design and optimisation
Proven experience of successfully delivering to UI/UX methodology within an Agile development framework, using Atlassian suite products (Jira, Confluence)
