About the role

Are you currently studying law and eager to gain real-world experience in a dynamic legal team?

Being part of the legal team in a fintech like Fourthline offers different challenges than you might find in other industries. Not only because we operate in a highly regulated environment, but also because we are working with cutting-edge machine learning systems at the same time. This, combined with the fact that we are a scale up, makes our work even more complex and exciting!

To help us, we are looking for an ambitious law student who wants to learn and develop in a fast-growing fintech company for a 2-month internship. As an intern, you will assist with various legal matters, such as corporate law, contract law, financial law, and employment law. Our Legal team’s mission is to support the organisation with proactive, practical, and solution-oriented legal and strategic advice.

 

About the team

The Legal team at Fourthline is dedicated to combating financial crime with our legal skills and expertise. The team consists of the General Counsel (Company Secretary), a Corporate Counsel, and a Senior Commercial Counsel. What you'll do

As an intern in the Legal team, your responsibilities will include:

• Working on several legal projects across various areas of law.
• Assisting in preparing, drafting, and reviewing contracts, company policies, advice, know-how, and other internal and external documents.
• Answering legal questions from colleagues.
• Conducting in-depth legal research.

 

What you've got

• You are in the final year of your Bachelor’s or pursuing a Master’s in Dutch law, with a focus on private law and/or financial law.
• Excellent Dutch and English skills, both written and oral.
• Meticulous attention to detail.
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• A self-starter attitude with enthusiasm, a willingness to learn quickly, and take on responsibility.

 

We offer a challenging two-month internship in an international working environment, based at our HQ in Amsterdam with the option of working partly from home. Given the central role of the Legal team, you will quickly gain broad knowledge of the organisation. You will join a professional yet informal and collegial culture where colleagues are happy to share their knowledge and expertise.
