Johnson & Johnson announced plans to separate our Orthopaedics business to establish a standalone Orthopaedics company, operating as DePuy Synthes. The process of the planned separation is anticipated to be completed within 18 to 24 months, subject to legal requirements, including consultation with works councils and other employee representative bodies, as may be required, regulatory approvals and other customary conditions and approvals. The Global Leader, Environmental Compliance & Sustainability – DePuy Synthes is responsible for defining and driving the global environmental and sustainability strategy across DePuy Synthes operations worldwide. The role spans the end-to-end value chain, including R&D, Supply Chain, and Commercial activities, and ensures environmental stewardship, regulatory compliance, and progress toward sustainability commitments are embedded into business strategy and execution.
Reporting to the Global Head of EHS&S, this role partners closely with senior leaders across the business to integrate environmental and sustainability requirements into decision-making, operations, and long-term planning. The role has direct people leadership responsibility, including global process owners for Environmental Management and Carbon / Climate / Energy Management.
Other Duties
Provides environmental and sustainability leadership input to major business initiatives, capital projects, acquisitions, and transformation programs, and supports response to significant environmental events or regulatory matters.
Required Minimum Education: Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, Sustainability, Chemistry, or a related technical discipline.
Required Years of Related Experience: Typically 10+ years of progressive environmental and/or sustainability leadership experience in global, multi-site, or regulated environments.

Indirect Reports: Regional and site-level environmental and sustainability resources aligned to global programs.
Makes hiring recommendations; trains employees; plans work of others; reviews work quality and quantity; conducts performance reviews; makes pay and promotional recommendations; recommends budget amounts.
