gener8tor runs accelerators and venture capital funds to catalyze community, mentorship, network, conviction and capital to bridge a community’s genius with opportunity. The gener8tor platform includes pre-accelerators, accelerators, corporate programming, conferences and fellowships. gener8tor operates venture capital funds and startup accelerators across 45 cities, 25 states and 3 countries, working with more than 300 startups per year. To date, gener8tor has worked with more than 1,500 startups that have cumulatively gone on to raise more than $2B in follow-on capital and employ more than 11,000 people.

Our gBETA program accelerates the growth of early-stage companies through its network-driven program. gBETA Program Managers recruit local startups, help them grow through applied mentorship, connections and support, operate the accelerator programs, engage alumni, and are gener8tor’s front-line to evangelize the startup communities in which they work. We are looking for ambitious community advocates whose hunger to support entrepreneurs, connect with mentors and investors, and strengthen the startup ecosystem is never satiated. No need for applicants to come with existing startup experience. gBETA Program Managers have come from prior careers in journalism, academia, economic development, science, politics, law and nonprofits!

Responsibilities

• Build relationships with stakeholders (mentors, investors, corporate partners) and engage with them across the community
• Recruit, vet, and select startup participants for gBETA Fargo and gBETA Grand Forks
• Plan logistics and execute two gBETA programs per year, one in each location
• Assist alumni with ongoing mentor, sponsor and investor relations following the program with the goal of preparing them for investment via the gener8tor North Dakota accelerator program
• Be the #1 cheerleader for the startups and entrepreneurs we work with
• Support the gener8tor team across multiple programs

Requirements

• Total devotion to North Dakota and the startup ecosystems of Fargo and Grand Forks
• Entrepreneurial spirit
• Self-starter
• Organized
• Commitment to equity across race, place and gender
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and juggle multiple ongoing projects and responsibilities
• A “no job is beneath me” mentality
• Willingness to intensively and rapidly learn a new industry, or dive deeper into the world of startups and venture capital if already familiar
• Flexibility to work some nights and weekends– we’re not a Monday-Friday, 9-5 operation!
• At least one year of program or product management experience is a plus
• Relevant bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred
