The Services available in our new private hospital will include orthopaedic, obstetrics, cardiology, ear nose and throat, plastic and reconstructive surgery, urology, gynaecology, general surgery, vascular, rehabilitation and oncology/infusions.  Facilities will include operating theatres, a day procedure unit, oncology/infusion unit, a cardiac catheter laboratory, delivery suites and a level 1 special care nursery and a rehabilitation gymnasium. 

ABOUT YOUR NEW ROLE:

We are seeking a highly motivated Associate Nurse Unit Manager (ANUM) to join our leadership team. The ANUM will have clinical skills in caring for patients within cardiac, rehabilitation and general surgical wards.   We currently have several full time or part time positions available to work at our Werribee campus.

ABOUT YOU:

Reporting directly to the Nurse Unit Manager (NUM), this exciting opportunity is now available for an experienced ANUM to join our team.

The successful applicant will be responsible for;

  • Provide direction, support and advice to nursing staff and other support personnel
  • Develop and foster flexibility from staff in order to meet the demands of the department
  • Provide professional leadership and the maintenance of clinical standards and quality care
  • Constructively supports the leadership of the NUM and assumes the responsibilities of the NUM in the absence of the NUM
  • Demonstrates ability and commitment to support organisational development as directed by the NUM
  • Facilitates effective working relationships with staff, customers, patients and Accredited Medical Practitioners
  • Liaise with the Clinical Co-ordinator and NUM to manage patient workload and staffing requirements on a shift-by-shift basis
  • Participates & actively supports the achievement of the Unit and Organisational KPIs, Mission, Vision & Values.

It is essential that the successful applicant has the following;

  • Current Registered Nurse registration with Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia   
  • Has completed, or is working towards, the achievement of Post graduate qualifications (Degree/Diploma) in the relevant clinical specialty
  • Experience in coordination of a ward
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, coach and support clinical teams to optimise customer and organisational outcomes
  • Excellent negotiating, communication and interpersonal skills
  • Willingness to undertake further studies or to pursue other self-development activities.
