The Operations Human Resources (HR) team at Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems is seeking an experienced HR Project Analyst to join a growing community of committed HR professionals at our facility located in Palmdale, CA. The selected candidate will join a team supporting the Operations homeroom and the entire Operations HR Organization as an HR Business Partner to a small client group and provide Senior HR Project Management support to the HR organization. The incumbent will be the focal point for the team on the process execution and implementation of HR strategic initiatives, programs, and processes across the homeroom, including succession planning, performance management, compensation, reward and recognition, succession planning, leadership development, leadership/bench strength development, staffing, EEO and other areas within the HR body of knowledge. The implementation of these programs will be through proficient leadership and project management skills and close collaboration with HR subject matter experts and the HR Management team. In addition, the selected candidate will be responsible for project management of HR projects, and must demonstrate the ability to plan, organize, implement, and close multiple projects simultaneously on various topics within HR work streams.
The ideal candidate will have former Project Management or HR Business Partner experience and ready for a unique opportunity to support a large HR organization, work directly with the Operations HR Business Leader and gain exposure and experience leading projects across the Operations organization in partnership with the HR Business Partners. Candidate will be able to demonstrate collaboration, relationship building skills, a commitment to ethics and integrity. Skillful verbal, presentation and written communication talents are required. The successful candidate will demonstrate how they have supported their prior teams through organization, self-motivation and task ownership skills, with the ability to accomplish complex duties and projects in a high-impact, time sensitive environment.
Specific duties and responsibilities include the following:
- Establish intimate understanding of the business and maintain credibility as subject matter expert in HR practices, policies, and procedures.
- Drive HR initiatives within scope and meet necessary deadlines.
- Build strong relationships that allow for a collaborative partnership to influence direction and drive change.
- Coach and mentor through consulting skills and provide root cause analysis and core problem solving to bring solutions to our business leaders.
- Support and partner with HR colleagues in operating divisions, functional organizations, talent acquisition, compensation and benefits, employee relations, diversity and inclusion and organizational effectiveness to support talent strategies.
- Provide regular data and metrics, leveraging our HR dashboards, to assist in identify trends, risks, and opportunities within the organization to allow the HRBP's to develop solutions in partnership with division and matrix leadership, COE and regional/division HR business leadership.
- Analyze and concisely present information to the management team to enable business growth and sound decision making.
- Provide business insight through data analysis, research, and bench marking.
- Leadership Development— drive our annual processes around comprehensive succession planning and strategic leadership movement; partner with HR business leaders to build leadership depth to support the succession planning process.
This position requires extensive senior leadership and HR leadership contact, and the ideal candidate will possess a track record of leadership and decision-making skills with the ability to realize results in an environment of ambiguity. The incumbent must have cross-cultural awareness and communication skills to be able to effectively interact with a geographically disbursed HR leadership team.
This requisition may be filled at either a Principal HR Project Analyst level or a Senior Principal HR Project Analyst level based on the qualifications listed below.
Basic Qualifications for a Principal HR Project Analyst:
- Bachelor's degree plus 5 years of experience in Human Resources, Project Management, or related OR a Master’s degree plus 3 years of experience in Human Resources, Project Management, or related
- Proficiency in Microsoft office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance and Special Program Access within a reasonable amount of time, as determined by the company to meet its business need
Basic Qualifications for a Senior Principal HR Project Analyst:
- Bachelor's degree plus 8 years of experience in Human Resources, Project Management, or related OR a Master’s degree plus 6 years of experience in Human Resources, Project Management, or related
- Proficiency in Microsoft office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance and Special Program Access within a reasonable amount of time, as determined by the company to meet its business need
Preferred Qualifications:
- Advanced degree preferred in Business, Human Resource Management, Organization Development, Industrial Organizational Psychology, or related field
- Proficient verbal and written communication skills, with demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with and influence others
- Ability to support the HR team with minimal task supervision, utilizing relationships to ensure alignment with organizational priorities, project timelines and deliverables and proactively sharing best practices for team learning and growth
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional projects to completion including organizing, planning, scheduling, and following up on all project related items
- Working knowledge of HRIS platforms and technology, with preferred applications experience in WorkDay, SAP, and Saba Learning Exchange (LX)
- Leadership consulting experience
- Large scale change management or organizational design experience
Salary Range: $88,700.00 - $133,100.00Salary Range 2: $109,900.00 - $164,900.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
