LOA/Disability Case Manager

Job Description:

LOA/Disability Case Manager

Location: This position will work a hybrid model (remote and office). The Ideal candidate will live within 50 miles of one of our Elevance Health PulsePoint locations.

The LOA/Disability Case Manager will be responsible for coordinating the administration of Short-term Disability and FMLA plans. 

How you will make an impact:

  • Provides a timely and thorough review of Short-term Disability, FMLA, and ADA claims and makes professional determinations. 
  • Facilitate Interactive discussions as part of the ADA process with the associate and business.
  • Review and process termination requests for associates with unapproved and/or expired Leave of Absence.
  • Manages the workflow for a large number of claims that will be managed by the LOA/Disability Case Managers to ensure equitable workload distribution and administering of claims within department standards. 
  • Provides advocacy case management to all appropriate LOA claims. 
  • Manages high impact LOA claims to identify the obstacles and opportunities for returning associates to work. 
  • Works with the medical provider, LOA clinic resource, managers, and Local HR to determine the return to work expectations and to facilitate the return to work process. 

Minimum Requirements:

Requires a BA degree and a minimum of 5 years of human resources experience; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.

Preferred Skills, Capabilities, and Experiences:

  • 5 years’ experience in health and welfare benefits, disability management, HR operations, and/or benefits administration strongly preferred.
  • Experience working through the ADA process end-to-end preferred.
  • HR designation strongly preferred (SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP).
  • Workday experience preferred.
  • ServiceNow experience preferred.
