We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Accountant to oversee the daily operations of our accounting department. This role will be responsible for managing key accounting functions, ensuring compliance with GAAP, and supporting the month-end and year-end close processes. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, excellent leadership capabilities, and the ability to work collaboratively across teams.

Job Description

  • Oversee and manage the company's accounting operations, ensuring compliance with accounting and auditing standards, particularly those relevant to the North American market.
  • Perform regular financial analysis to provide key insights and recommendations for business improvement.
  • Manage the monthly, quarterly, and yearly closing process, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.
  • Monitor and enforce the implementation of internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure financial integrity.
  • Lead the preparation of financial statements, management reports, and other key financial documents.
  • Coordinate and manage the external audit process, ensuring compliance with applicable regulatory standards.
  • Review and ensure proper application of accounting standards and guidelines.
  • Analyze and manage cash flows, ensuring the company maintains an adequate liquidity position.
  • Monitor and manage treasury functions, including cash forecasting, short-term investments, and debt management.
  • Lead and manage the budgeting process, ensuring that all departments adhere to their budgets and that financial goals are aligned with company objectives.
  • Provide financial guidance and support in the creation and revision of budgets, forecasts, and financial plans.
  • Provide strategic financial guidance and support for cross-functional teams.
  • Participate in the implementation and optimization of SAP systems, if applicable.

Required Skills and Competencies

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or equivalent certification preferred).
  • Proven experience as an Accounting Manager or similar role, with a focus on the North American market.
  • Deep understanding of accounting and auditing standards, with the ability to interpret and apply them accurately.
  • Strong knowledge of financial control, cash flow analysis, treasury management, and budgeting.
  • Experience leading and managing budgeting processes, creating financial forecasts, and aligning departmental goals with overall business objectives.
  • Familiarity with SAP, BPC and other ERP systems is highly valued.
  • Experience in the infrastructure sector is a plus.
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities.
