Job Description:

Overseas, Implement and Sustain quality and operational related efforts in our EAST London based JV Process Cheese Operation. Duties include: GMP monitoring, verify if processes are existing and followed in all areas, e.g. Sanitation, Quality and Production, KPI implementation, training, coaching, compliance with various customer, company, government requirements and guidelines, and continuous improvement of product cost, quality, and service.

Role & Responsibilities:

  • Train, coach, evaluate and reinforce Food Safety and Quality principles with partners. Together with the leadership team, ensures compliance with Food Safety and Food Quality Plans, in addition to customer requirements.

  • Oversees Foods Safety / Hygiene / GMP programs and ensures Schreiber’s standards are met

  • Oversees all technical aspects of our dairy production process from raw materials, processing, and finished goods to our customers

  • Goals – lead and participate in team efforts to meet or exceed plant, category, and enterprise goals using continuous improvement tools, processes, and teams.

  • Customer Requirements – work with Operations, Sales, and PLS leadership in identifying, communicating, and meeting customer requirements

  • Customer Requirements – Develop processes, programs, and checks to ensure customer requirements / specifications are met

  • Governmental Regulations – Be knowledgeable of various government regulations that must be complied with, i.e., HACCP, BRC, EHS, Trading Standards, District Council, etc. 

  • Establishes and Audits PCPs, CCPs and Standard Operating Procedures to define and monitor processes, to ensure customer requirements are met. Reviews incidents during which the procedures are not met and determines appropriate corrective action for partners failing to follow standard procedures.

  • Work with the plant and EQFS teams to make sure that Food Safety, Quality, Sanitation, and Lab programs are designed, implemented, and executed on a daily basis to meet goals and requirements.

  • Organization and implementation of Food Safety, Quality, Sanitation, and Lab training for all plant partners (as required)

  • Collaborate with Production, Engineering and Logistics departments to optimize production processes and food safety.

  • Monitor and Ensure all quality management systems and document control processes are up to date.

  • Hygiene / Sanitation / GMP Audits , Monitoring and verification of site Sanitation

  • Monitor and support department efforts in meeting or exceeding goals in Quality, Productivity, Raw Material Usage, Safety, Customer Complaints, and Service.

  • Identify and communicate internal and external customer requirements. Verify and develop PCP’s, SOP’s, Work instruction to ensure customer requirements are met.

  • Be knowledgeable of various government regulations that must be complied with.

  • Guide the training and development of the Local Leadership Team,

  • Train local team through the use of problem-solving methods, corrective action tracking, and other quality tools identify and make process improvements.

  • Make sure that customer orders are scheduled in a timely manner, taking into consideration production efficiencies, quality and operational related processes, guidelines and GMP are strictly followed.

  • Identify potential improvement opportunities and present them

  • Control via monitoring, tracking and maintain control of variable and fixed budgets. Work out Actions Plans, execute them to strive Operational Excellence.

  • Administer various company, plant or department processes in certification programs, pay systems, assessment/feedback processes, etc.

Key Ingredients:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Quality, Food Dairy Science; Food Chemistry; Engineering; Supply Chain

  • +8 years of experience. 3-5 years of experience as a Production Team or Quality Advisor, with at least 2-3 years of experience in Processed Cheese or any related Food manufacturing plant, preferable Dairy

  • This is a temporary contract for a duration of 3 years

  • Availability to travel up to 50% (on annual basis)
