Summary of Job Duties:

The Arkansas Geriatric Education Collaborative (AGEC) Curriculum Development Specialist will be the lead liaison for clinical related activities (events, education, data collection and reporting, etc...), and will work directly with the Geriatric Workforce Enhancement Program (GWEP) Principal Investigator (PI) and Clinical Director. This position will serve to develop, manage, implement, and evaluate educational modules, develop, and revise educational materials/resources related to Age and Dementia-Friendly Health System’s 4Ms Framework. The AGEC Curriculum Development Specialist will be involved in GWEP related events and activities including coordination with the academic partners with students/residents who have GWEP stipends for clinical experiences in partnered clinical sites.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in nursing or health-related clinical field plus four (4) years of clinical experience in an educator role required.

  • Must have an RN license.

  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in nursing or health-related clinical field.

  • Eperience in teaching and working with academic, clinical, and community partners.

  • Experience with older adult populations.

  • REDcap (Research Electronic Data Capture) experience.


Additional Information:

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with educational requirements of GWEP supported individuals in positions with stipend support; schedule training and education sessions.

  • Prepare all materials; assist with clinical site budget development and compliance, and report on clinical activities and experiential learning data.

  • Assist clinical sites to obtain Age-Friendly status and to advance the certification when appropriate.

  • Must be able and willing travel to GWEP clinical sites/partners and potential sites (student sites) and partners to assist with educational programs and quality improvement activities (RQI cycles), community events, address any learner concerns, and activities related to advancing 4M’s recognition and certifications. 

  • Meet with, establish and maintain consistent, frequent, and excellent communication with clinical and academic partners, including active clinical sites.  

  • Collaborate with GWEP staff on new programs and partner development and related program evaluation activities.

  • Collaborate well with the AGEC staff and its grant partners.

  • Work effectively with UAMS technical staff to insure all educational programming, modules, etc.. are available for remote learners and that data collection for all learners is assured.

  • Develop, maintain, and monitor the completion of training and educational materials.

  • Participate in evaluation activities, ensure training is available for all remote learners & partners.

  • Schedule training and education sessions.

  • Support grant writing activities and reports related to all clinical programs, collaborations, and trainees.

  • Work with UAMS and other grant personnel to collect and enter data for all grant purposes and reports.

  • Meet with clinical and educational partners and schedule events and work with staff to obtain CE when appropriate.  

  • Produce drafts for grant reports, attend meetings, contact faculty and assure compliance with guidelines for obtaining CE credit for multiple disciplines. May be expected to lecture on topics that meet incumbent’s area of expertise in geriatrics/ gerontology.

  • Develop materials for dissemination when needed to fulfill grant obligations.

  • Collaborate with GWEP Staff on new program and partner development and work with GWEP Staff on program evaluation activities.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.
