Purpose

The CAD Engineer is responsible for planning, development, designing and manufacturing of products and systems using software programs.

Key responsibilities

  • Design product constructions (efficient in production and cost) according to specification
  • Design 2D/3D product data records in coordination with the Design Engineer
  • Design CAD-models and drawings in accordance with customer specific requirements and JC standard
  • Prepare bill of material for the implementation
  • Construct studies for package, layout, and cinematics
  • Communicate with JC-internal interfaces/ departments (Testing, Prototyping, Structure mechanic)
  • Prepares complex technical drawings and plans to show detail and method of assembly. Estimates the material required based on the drawings. Indicates dimensions and fastening requirements
  • Evaluated in context of the standard size.  Sets operational objectives and delivers results that have a direct impact on the achievement of results within the job area.
  • Explains facts, practices, policies, etc. to primarily others internally
  • Regularly correct or resolve issues or problems in existing systems and processes. Makes minor changes. Less often Adapts or enhances quality or value in existing methods; make better as party of day-to-day activities
  • Problems may be only vaguely defined and require understanding and consideration of other job areas
  • Advanced knowledge and skills within a specific discipline integrating theory and principles with organizational practices
