About the Role
As Associate Director of Climate and Carbon Markets, you will help OPIS (a Dow Jones company) grow its presence in compliance and voluntary carbon markets. You will drive the development of benchmarks, market data, and insights that support global energy transition initiatives. This is a business development role focused on market engagement, cross-functional collaboration, and building adoption of OPIS’ carbon market solutions. You will report to the Executive Director of Business Development.

About the Team
OPIS provides price transparency across the global energy, metals, and chemical supply chain, including the commodity, wholesale rack, and retail markets. Customers rely on OPIS for accurate data, real-time news, powerful software, and events that connect the industry. Our mission is to deliver reliable, easy-to-use products while listening to customer needs and driving innovation.

You will:

  • Manage a portfolio of OPIS carbon market products, content, and reports.

  • Map customer segments, analyze market direction, and align OPIS’ strategy with sector opportunities.

  • Build and execute stakeholder engagement strategies to strengthen customer relationships and drive product innovation.

  • Develop and maintain a pipeline of product ideas by collaborating with internal teams and external stakeholders.

  • Support the product roadmap, from idea to launch, ensuring solutions evolve with market needs.

  • Lead benchmark strategy and prioritization efforts to identify key sectors and deliver growth.

  • Partner with editorial, sales, product management, and marketing teams to achieve business objectives.

  • Represent OPIS at industry events, conferences, and client meetings, with regular travel.

  • Pursue speaking opportunities at events to promote OPIS as a leader in carbon and climate markets.

You have:

  • Expertise in climate and carbon markets, including voluntary and compliance frameworks.

  • A strong professional network within carbon markets and related industries.

  • Proven business development and market engagement experience.

  • Background in benchmark strategy and cross-functional collaboration.

  • Ability to translate market insights and customer feedback into actionable business plans.

  • Track record of launching new products or benchmarks in energy or carbon markets.

  • Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience.

  • 10+ years of relevant work experience.
