Job Description:

Job Title: Service Design Architect

Job Description Summary: The Service Design Architect is responsible for designing and developing IT architecture solutions (integrating processes, applications, data, and technology) that address business challenges while aligning with the enterprise architecture standards and direction. This role involves technical planning, architecture development, and modifying specifications. The architect also develops product, service, and application specifications, ensuring compatibility and integration of proposed solutions to maintain a cohesive and integrated architecture across interdependent technologies.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Design, implement, and optimize infrastructure solutions that align with business objectives.
  • Collaborate with senior architects to support infrastructure initiatives and projects.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot the performance, security, and cost-effectiveness of infrastructure components.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to junior team members to help them grow in their roles.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the successful execution of projects.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend enhancements to infrastructure capabilities.
  • Assist in managing vendor relationships and contracts to maintain high service quality.
  • Contribute to the development and enforcement of infrastructure standards and best practices.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
  • 7+ years of relevant industry experience, including at least 3 years in infrastructure architecture or related roles.
  • Experience in participating in infrastructure projects.
  • Strong technical knowledge of infrastructure technologies.
  • Proficiency in infrastructure architecture platforms, virtualization technologies, and configuration management tools.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Familiarity with IT service management frameworks and best practices.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Passion for continuous learning and staying current with industry and technology trends.

Other Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree in a related field is a plus.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., CCNA, CompTIA Network+, AWS Certified Solutions Architect) are highly desirable.
  • Basic scripting and automation skills (e.g., PowerShell, Bash, Python) are a plus.
