We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Paralegal to join our legal team. The successful candidate will provide crucial support to attorneys by conducting legal research, preparing documents, and assisting with case management. The Paralegal is responsible for preparing real estate services-related contracts, supporting the Contract Management system, maintaining library of contract forms and templates, and various other duties as assigned.

The position is full-time, based in JLL’s Bogota, Colombia office, and reports to JLL’s Chief Counsel, Greater LatAm.

Responsibilities:

  • Review, draft and provide comments for routine real estate services-related contracts, including for JLL’s Work Dynamics business
  • Review and draft contract related documents, such as letters of intent, breach letterers and termination notices. Serve as a liaison with business units to handle queries arising related to standard contract forms and procedures
  • Update and maintain library of forms/contract templates and clauses to ensure consistency among contracts, including establishing best practices with respect to the contracting process
  • Develop an in-depth working knowledge of JLL’s legal operations systems and their contents
  • Provide support, training, and direction to users of JLL’s legal operations systems
  • Respond to requests from business units relating to the JLL’s legal operations systems
  • Provide support on corporate matters by addressing basic inquiries from the business units regarding the legal entities in the region and facilitating the provision of essential documents pertaining to these entities. Provide assistance in collecting relevant information from internal departments, including Finance, Payroll, Human Resources, and clients' accounts, for legal proceedings.
  • Assist with non-routine and special projects as requested by attorneys

Qualifications:

  • Candidate must possess a Licenciatura degree in Law
  • Advanced level of English is required and proficiency in Portuguese is a plus.
  • The Paralegal is a professional who looks to the future with optimism to envision what could be possible for JLL legal and implements best-in-class processes and systems. The successful candidate has project management skills, is an exceptional communicator and critical listener, and has meticulous attention to detail.
  • Project management – Ability to manage varying assignments, from routine to complex matters. No fear of examining large complex contracts for specific contract terms and preparing and negotiating local ancillary agreements
  • Cultural alignment – Excellent judgment, positive personality and sense of humor, unwavering ethical standards, drives excellence, and is innately collaborative and goal oriented.
  • Organization – Strong organizational, communication (verbal and written), and interpersonal skills
