Summary:
As an Application Support Engineer, you will act as software detectives, providing a dynamic service identifying and solving issues within multiple components of critical business systems. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth functioning of the applications and providing support to end-users. Your typical day will involve troubleshooting and resolving technical issues, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and contributing to the improvement of application performance and stability.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Expected to perform independently and become an SME.
- Required active participation/contribution in team discussions.
- Contribute in providing solutions to work-related problems.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues.
- Provide support to end-users and address their queries and concerns.
- Monitor application performance and stability, and take proactive measures to improve them.
- Perform root cause analysis for incidents and implement preventive measures.
- Document and maintain technical documentation, including troubleshooting guides and knowledge base articles.
- Stay updated with the latest technologies and industry trends to enhance application support services.
Professional & Technical Skills:
- Must To Have Skills: Proficiency in IBM iSeries.
- Strong understanding of software development life cycle (SDLC) and ITIL processes.
- Experience in troubleshooting and resolving application issues.
- Knowledge of SQL and database management.
- Familiarity with scripting languages such as Shell or Python.
- Good To Have Skills: Experience with cloud platforms like AWS or Azure.
- Experience in working with ticketing systems like JIRA or ServiceNow.
Additional Information:
- The candidate should have a minimum of 2 years of experience in IBM iSeries.
- This position is based at our Bengaluru office.
- A 15 years full-time education is required.
Role Description: Act as the ongoing interface between the admin team and the system or client/application. Dedicated to quality, using exceptional communication skills to keep our world class systems running. Can accurately define a client issue and can interpret and report to next level on timely basis.
Must have Skills: IBM AS /400 Operations and Monitoring
Good to Have Skills: a) Monitor AS400 Servers and reporting along with BRMS, MIMIX, ALT & VTL, Patching, Job Management, HMC, SST. b) Collecting information and reporting to L3 Lead on timely basis.
Key Responsibility: a) Knowledge on?AS400 iSeries Servers. b) Knowledge of IT Operations C) Good Communication Skill.
Technical Experience: a) Must have 2+ years of AS/400 system Operations/monitoring experience. b) Knowledge on server daily health check activities, Patching, BRMS, MIMIX monitoring, Job Management, Data FTP, HMC, SST, ALT & VTL. c) Knowledge on IT Operations and Monitoring. d) Worked on support model. e) Monitor/ Running Backup’s and restoration. f) Monitor alerts on tools The resource should have very good communication skills. i) The resource should have a good knowledge on ITIL concepts (Incident, problem & change management skills)
Professional Experience: a) Good verbal and written communication skill to connect with customer at varying levels of the organization. B) Ability to operate independently in shift and make decisions with little direct supervision. c) Flexible to work in 247 environments
