POSITION OVERVIEW
The Senior Advisor, Corporate Strategy and planning will support activities linked to the organization’s strategic planning cycle. As a great team worker, he or she will be mainly involved in the development of the annual strategic retreats and related initiatives, while also being called upon to support other steps of the corporate planning cycle, as needed.
Reporting to the Director, Corporate Planning and Performance, the individual will work closely across multiple fields in the Corporate Strategy sphere, supporting different projects and initiatives, working closely with the Bank’s Corporate Strategy Lead, and different collaborators across business units.
CHALLENGES TO BE MET
Design and conduct research and analysis; deepen understanding of the organization, the market in which it operates and the needs of specific sectors/business segments.
Build strategic documents synthesizing complex and detailed research and information to communicate key findings.
Develop content for the annual strategic retreats and contribute to their planning and organization.
Work collaboratively in the development of strategic initiatives stemming from the organization’s strategy; contribute to the identification of the approach to be adopted (methodology, scope, work plan), take charge of the elaboration of workshops and strategic documents leading to conclusions and concrete actions.
When required, support other activities of the corporate strategic planning cycle, namely the development of the Corporate Plan, the business unit plans and corporate prioritization.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
Bachelor’s degree in commerce / administration; a graduate degree would be an asset
Five to eight years’ relevant experience in strategy development
Experience in a consulting firm an asset
Excellent interpersonal skills, combined with the ability to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders
Ability to develop and structure complex strategic planning documents
Ability to gather relevant information, produce summaries
Ability to understand economic and business trends and issues that affect SMEs, including financial service offerings (from banks and fintechs)
Ability to understand client needs and a natural tendency to adopt a client-centric approach (for both internal and external clients)
Excellent oral and written communication skills, in both official languages (French and English)
Ability to work in a team and under pressure to meet tight and often-conflicting deadlines
Good judgment, tact and discretion
