Job Description Summary

EHS & IT Representative you will be responsible for assisting in the development, implementation and sustainment of EHS programs to ensure the safety of all associates, visitors and contractors; protect the environment, and maintain compliance with all global and local regulations. This position works closely with all departments to ensure EH&S is a team effort.

Job Description

  • Compile and submit accident reports required by AAM and regulatory agencies. Report all incidents in the EHS System (Donesafe) as required and report out to staff (internal & Corporate)

  • Participate in the weekly Global EHS call every Monday morning

  • Conduct tests and field investigations to obtain data for use by environmental, engineering, and scientific personnel in determining sources and methods of controlling pollutants in air, water, and soil by performing the following duties

  • Directing plant safety team

  • Make studies and analyses of industrial accident causes and hazards to health for use by company personnel and outside agencies

  • Formulate general safety policies and procedures to be followed by company or plant personnel in compliance with local, state, and federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) rules and regulations

  • Work with HR to contribute to the development and update(s) of safety policies and handbooks

  • Inspection/auditing of facility and work areas to detect existing or potential accident and health hazards; recommends corrective or preventative measures where indicated

  • Report Environmental KPI’s to monthly Steering Committee 

  • Devise, supervising, and coordinating training programs or media which will increase proficiency in safe practices and promote safety consciousness

  • Prepare and arrange safety exhibits and material for display, promotional work, industry conferences and exhibitions

  • Ensure that the EMS is established, implemented, and maintained in accordance with ISO 14001 Standards

  • Update monthly compliance calendar

  • Monitor and report on Environmental issues

  • Maintain S4 status through the 11 Elements of our corporate EH&S Systems

  • Installs new server hardware and software according to standard operating procedures.
  • Actively participates in hardware and software configuration and change management processes.

  • Provides statistics of systems usage, systems outages, end user requests, etc. at meetings, planning sessions, and other interactions as needed.

  • Participates in system disaster recovery tests, in accordance with company policy, to ensure data integrity and availability.

  • Contribute to and maintain security posture of the system in accordance with AAM policies.

  • Troubleshoots issues with server hardware and software; provides problem determination, including interfacing with other IT teams and customers to determine root cause.

  • Create, change, and delete user accounts per request as necessary.

  • Open support cases with external Vendors when required.

  • Performs scheduled server maintenance activities, including server activities such as patching, replacing failed hardware, and expanding file systems (many activities occur after normal business hours)

  • Perform ongoing server and SAN performance tuning, hardware upgrades, and resource optimization as required. Configure CPU, memory, and disk partitions as required.

  • All other duties as assigned.

Required Skills and Education

  • Degree in related field, or 7+ years experience, or a combination of education and experience.
  • Proficiency with database applications and administration systems, specifically Microsoft Office
  • Ability to facilitate safety training
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to maintain confidential information and to communicate information regarding compliance performance or other business issues strictly on a need-to-know basis
