Senior Product Network Specialist

Description -

We are seeking a skilled Network Engineer with a strong background in audio and video technologies to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and troubleshooting network systems with a focus on voice and video connectivity. This role requires a deep understanding of network infrastructure, audio and video protocols, and the ability to quickly resolve connection issues to ensure high-quality voice and video communication. 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Network Design and Implementation: 

  • Design, configure, and deploy network solutions with a focus on supporting audio and video communication. 

  • Optimize network performance for voice and video traffic, ensuring minimal latency and packet loss. 

  • Implement Quality of Service (QoS) policies to prioritize audio and video traffic. 

  • Troubleshooting and Support: 

  • Diagnose and resolve complex voice and video connection issues. 

  • Monitor network performance and troubleshoot problems related to audio and video streaming. 

  • Collaborate with IT and AV teams to ensure seamless integration and performance of AV systems. 

  • Maintenance and Upgrades: 

  • Regularly update and maintain network hardware and software to support AV systems. 

  • Perform network audits and assessments to identify and resolve potential issues. 

  • Implement security measures to protect AV network infrastructure. 

  • Documentation and Reporting: 

  • Create and maintain detailed network diagrams, configuration files, and documentation. 

  • Provide regular reports on network performance and issues related to audio and video communication. 

  • Collaboration and Training: 

  • Work closely with other IT professionals, vendors, and service providers to ensure optimal network performance. 

  • Provide training and support to end-users on audio and video technologies. 

Qualifications: 

  • Experience: 

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in network engineering. 

  • Proven experience with audio and video communication technologies and protocols (e.g., SIP, RTP, RTCP, VoIP, H.323, WebRTC). 

  • Skills and Competencies: 

  • In-depth knowledge of networking concepts, including routing, switching, VLANs, and firewalls. 

  • Proficiency with network monitoring and troubleshooting tools (e.g., Wireshark, SolarWinds, PRTG). 

  • Experience with network hardware from vendors such as Cisco, Juniper, and others. 

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. 

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. 

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team. 

  • Certifications: 

  • Relevant certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, or similar are preferred. 

  • Certifications related to audio and video technologies are a plus (e.g., CTS, CTS-D). 

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Experience with cloud-based audio and video solutions (e.g., Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Cisco WebEx). 

  • Knowledge of scripting and automation (e.g., Python, Bash). 

  • Familiarity with network security practices and protocols.

Per the California statute, the estimated range of compensation for this job in that location, at the time of this posting, is $120,000-165,000.  This position may be eligible for incentive pay, for openings where this is applicable.
