Position Summary...

What you'll do...

We are seeking an experienced Senior Software Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will focus on back-end development and demonstrate expertise in Java, SQL, Kafka, REST APIs, JSON, microservices, Kubernetes, and cloud services. This role is critical to developing and maintaining the server-side logic, ensuring high performance and responsiveness to requests from the front-end. 

 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Design and Development: Develop and maintain robust and scalable back-end applications using Java. 

  • Database Management: Design, implement, and optimize SQL databases to ensure efficient data storage and retrieval. 

  • Integration: Develop and manage data pipelines using Kafka for real-time data processing and integration. 

  • API Development: Design, develop, and maintain RESTful APIs to enable seamless interaction between various components of the system. 

  • Data Exchange: Work with JSON for data interchange between server and client. 

  • Microservices: Design and implement microservices architecture to improve scalability and maintainability. 

  • Containerization and Orchestration: Employ Kubernetes for container orchestration to manage deployment, scaling, and operations of application containers. 

  • Cloud Services: Utilize cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud for deploying and managing applications. 

  • Code Quality: Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code, adhering to best practices and coding standards. 

  • Testing: Conduct unit testing and integration testing to ensure code quality and reliability. 

  • Performance Optimization: Identify bottlenecks and optimize performance across the system. 

  • Collaboration: Work closely with front-end developers, product managers, and other stakeholders to deliver high-quality solutions. 

  • Mentorship: Mentor junior engineers and contribute to the continuous improvement of the team's skills and processes. 

 

Required Qualifications 

  • Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. 

  • Experience: At least 7 years of professional experience in back-end development. 

  • Technical Skills: 

  • Proficiency in Java and related frameworks (e.g., Spring, Hibernate). 

  • Strong knowledge of SQL and experience with databases like PostgreSQL, MySQL, or Oracle. 

  • Experience with Kafka for real-time data streaming. 

  • Expertise in designing and implementing RESTful APIs. 

  • Proficient in JSON for data interchange. 

  • Experience with microservices architecture. 

  • Proficiency in Kubernetes for container orchestration. 

  • Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud. 

  • Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. 

  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. 

  • Team Player: Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment. 

 

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Familiarity with containerization tools like Docker. 

  • Knowledge of CI/CD tools and practices. 

  • Experience with monitoring and logging tools for cloud services.

The annual salary range for this position is $117,000.00-$234,000.00
