Job Description:

Reporting into the Director, Regulatory Management. You will manage, record, and communicate complex and overlapping regulatory information requests, facilitate communication both internally and externally with Sun Life's regulators, and work with a diverse range of stakeholders to achieve our regulatory compliance expectations.

What will you do?

  • Management and intake of regulatory requests for information, meeting scheduling and related administration

  • Supporting the coordination and completion of internal and Board level reporting as well as the execution and management of regulatory reviews

  • Providing broad administrative support to the VP, Head of Regulatory Office

What do you need to succeed?

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office suite of applications, such as PowerPoint, Excel, and Word and possessing an aptitude for learning new software and systems

  • Experience with data visualization tools (like Tableau), considered an asset

  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to identify regulatory themes and areas of focus across multiple business groups that Sun Life operates in

  • Ability to create comprehensive meeting minutes and pull out and summarize meeting themes for executive level attendees

  • Ability to work on and complete multiple, competing high-priority tasks that will often overlap

  • Ability to understand when responses from management are incomplete or when requests from the regulator are unclear and need to be escalated to the Director

Qualifications

  • University degree in politics, law, finance, or other relevant degree

  • 3+ years experience in the insurance or financial services industry

The Base Pay range is for the primary location for which the job is posted.  It may vary depending on the work location of the successful candidate or other factors.  In addition to Base Pay, eligible Sun Life employees participate in various incentive plans, payment under which is discretionary and subject to individual and company performance.  Certain sales focused roles have sales incentive plans based on individual or group sales results.
