Project Role : Technology OpS Support Practitioner
Project Role Description : Own the integrity and governance of systems, including best practices for delivering services. Develop, deploy and support infrastructures, applications and technology initiatives from an architectural and operational perspective in conjunction with existing standards and methods of delivery.

Primary Skill: Linux & AIX administration Secondary: VMware virtualization Key Responsibilities: System Management & Operations: Oversee the management and operation of Linux (SUSE, RHEL) and AIX systems in a highly critical, production environment. Resolve day-to-day operational issues efficiently while maintaining system uptime and performance. Ensure the stability, security, and scalability of Linux and AIX systems. Automation & Scripting: Automate repetitive tasks and administrative processes across Linux and AIX systems using Ansible, batch scripts, and SUSE Manager. Develop and maintain Ansible playbooks to streamline system configuration, patching, and vulnerability remediation. Vulnerability Management & Remediation: Proactively manage security vulnerabilities across all systems, ensuring timely remediation to protect critical infrastructure using various tools like Satellite, Suse Manager and ansible. Work closely with the security team to identify, assess, and patch vulnerabilities in a risk-averse manner. Infrastructure Virtualization: Manage and optimize virtualized environments using VMware and IBM PowerVM. Oversee IBM Power hardware management and operations, including managing Logical Partitions (LPAR) and the Hardware Management Console (HMC). Incident Management: Take ownership of critical incidents, leading the response to system outages, performance degradation, and security incidents. Provide root cause analysis and recommendations for preventing future incidents. Required Skills & Experience: Operating Systems: Extensive experience with AIX, Linux (SUSE & RHEL). Automation: Proficiency in automating tasks using Ansible, batch scripts, and SUSE Manager. Vulnerability Remediation: Strong experience in identifying and mitigating security vulnerabilities across Linux and AIX environments. Virtualization: Hands-on experience with VMware and IBM LPAR/PowerVM. Hardware Management: Experience managing IBM Power hardware, including HMC and Power Systems architecture. Problem Solving: Strong troubleshooting skills, especially in high-pressure, critical environments. Experience with large-scale production environments on Linux HA cluster Relevant certifications such as RHCE, VMware, IBM Certified Power Systems Specialist, or equivalent. Strong knowledge of ITIL practices and service management frameworks.
