Foundation Risk Partners, one of the fastest growing insurance brokerage and consulting firms in the US, is adding a Sales Manager to their Westport team in Braintree, MA Metro Region. 

Job Summary:

The Sales Manager will lead and develop The Westport Group’s (TWG’s) sales efforts in alignment with aggressive business growth objectives in the multi-life High-Limit Long-term Disability Insurance marketplace. In partnership with TWG management, the incumbent will build a sales plan that supports the firm’s business goals and will be responsible for the plan’s execution that will include both client acquisition and broker development. In addition to personal production, this individual will also manage and develop the current sales team through mentorship and metric setting. We seek strong influencing and negotiation skills along with collaboration on product development and marketing efforts. This position requires a driven, motivated sales professional looking to make immediate and significant contributions to a successful, established organization.

Essential Functions:

  • Identify and manage to sales goals in alignment with TWG’s business growth objectives.
  • Lead the client acquisition process via a consultative approach throughout the point-of-sale process.
  • Broker development through established channels and identification of new opportunities.
  • Manage and develop internal sales team in alignment with sales goals.
  • Collaborate with underwriting and implementation teams through the sales process as needed.
  • Oversee proposal and presentation development in support of sales efforts.
  • Establish sales metrics and reporting processes.
  • Consult on marketing plan and tactics.
  • Become an expert on TWG’s product portfolio and administrative capabilities.

Competencies & Qualifications: 

  • Superior presentation skills.
  • Strong ability to educate, influence and negotiate.
  • Results-driven, motivated leader with experience developing a sales team.
  • Microsoft Office skills including PowerPoint, Word and basic knowledge of Excel.
  • Experience with utilizing CRM to manage sales activity.
  • Works well in a small, team environment. Embraces flexibility of duties and collaborates well with team members.

Education & Experience:

  • 10 years demonstrated sales experience preferably in the insurance or group benefits arena.
  • Previously responsible for managing and developing a sales team.
  • Experience with the development and execution of a successful sales plan.
  • Bachelor’s degree required.
