The Home Buying team is responsible for end-to-end management of CommBank’s Home Loan business including distribution through proprietary and third-party channels, acquisition, retention, customer experience, risk, product and continuous improvement.

Within Home Buying, the LMI Transformation team has responsibility for Home Buying’s Lenders Mortgage Insurance and Low Deposit Premium products as well as the transformation and strategy of these products.

Do work that matters

You will report to the Chapter Lead, Speciality Product and Simplification. As a Product Manager, you will play a key role in delivering on our Home Buying LMI Strategy. You will be a key contributor to managing our High LVR product portfolio in line with our policy, compliance, risk, pricing, and procedure requirements, but most importantly with a customer obsession that enables us to simplify our offering in a respectful way.

To do this you will confidently address stakeholder questions and concerns and accurately evaluate ambiguous situations to reach informed decisions at pace to keep your initiatives progressing.  You will be able to resolve complex issues by having a clear understanding of the problem, have the ability to articulate the support required and then use effective strategies and techniques to escalate as needed.

 Key Responsibilities

  • Contribute to and lead product reviews and address key governance requirements (e.g. PGF, PDDP, Pricing and Credit Risk)
  • Work with impacted teams to ensure effective embedding of product changes
  • Content development and management for products within your problem space
  • Participate in the quarterly business planning cycles, working with your squad to prioritise the backlog and accurately manage delivery expectations
  • Support business verification testing activities
  • Assess and document the current state of business functions and processes to identify and recommend improvements, including application of User and customer journeys
  • Lead requirements elicitation, including workshops to capture requirements. Constructively challenge stated requirements
  • Articulate requirements and communicate business and customer value to the project delivery / scrum team. Help establish success criteria
  • Contribute to the conversion of business and customer needs into functional designs
  • Define problems and opportunities. Perform data analysis that can be used to support or challenge business initiatives
  • Support the project delivery / scrum team to break down work and translate requirements into functional specifications using appropriate method (e.g. backlog creation, user stories, as-built functional documentation etc.)
  • Contribute to assessment of dependencies and associated risk and compliance implications of requirements and solutions
  • Manage operational risk incidents and issues relating to the product, uplifting and implementing controls where required

  

We’re interested in hearing from people who have:

  • Previous experience in product management and business analysis is highly regarded, especially within financial services
  • Experience in delivering multiple initiatives, projects or change management
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proven stakeholder engagement skills
  • Knowledge of operations and compliance risk management or frameworks
  • Strong planning and time management skills with the ability to deal with competing priorities
  • Demonstrated experience working in an Agile environment preferred
