Manages and leads the Regions Business Banking team. Supervises BB Manager and/or banker’s activities to make sure they are achieving overall goals and providing products and services to existing and potential Business Banking clients. Assist RSLs in training and mentoring Branch associates to reach desired Business Banking production goals.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Primary Duties:
- Serves as the Region’s Business Banking Expert to clearly understand and stay abreast of competition and industry trends while monitoring what the market is offering to small businesses.
- Works closely with Regional Leadership on development and implementation of Business Banking strategies into market.
- Works closely with Regional Leadership to drive small business growth in the branch network and through Business Bankers thereby increasing revenues and profit for the Retail LOB
- Organizes, develops, trains, and coaches front-line sales team to ensure they are motivated and trained to meet all sales and service targets related to Retail Business Banking.
Additional Duties:
- Monitors performance weekly to plan use of the sales management process as outlined by Retail LOB. Activities include but are not limited to: Weekly Impact Calls; Weekly loan pipeline call with Business Bankers and Team Leads; needs assessment reviews to ensure needs-based selling.
- Reviews 2X2X2 process of each Business Banker to ensure successful on-boarding and Hancock Hospitality guidelines are in place.
- Accompanies Business Bankers on business development appointments.
- Works with business partners such as Wealth, Wholesale, Investment, Insurance, and Mortgage to ensure assigned referral and sales targets are achieved.
- Monitors the portfolios of the Business Bankers to ensure asset quality remains within Bank’s standards.
- Monitors Business Banker CSP results and comments to ensure a consistent superior customer experience delivered within market area.
- Models leadership effectiveness by sharing best practices and recognition of team members on a consistent basis.
- Holds self and team accountable for execution of the sales and service process as outlined by Retail LOB to ensure objectives are achieved.
- Participates in local community events to foster brand awareness and service to markets in which we operate.
- Adheres to quarterly/annual expense budget in controllable line items such as FTE, salary dollar, controllable losses, and other controllable expense line items as outlined by Retail LOB.
- Reinforces our vision, mission, and strategy through words and actions to support Hancock Holding Company’s business goals.
- Holds and documents monthly coaching performance discussions with direct reports covering sales, service, and operations.
- Holds self and team accountable for demonstrating high ethical standards in accordance with Hancock Holding Company’s core values
- Performs other duties and special projects as assigned by Senior Management
- Incumbent is required to comply with all applicable federal, state, and local banking and industry related laws and regulations including but not limited to the Bank Secrecy Act.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Manages subordinate supervisors who supervises employees in Business Banking, is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of this unit, directly supervises employees, and carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities: interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
MINIMUM REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & KNOWLEDGE:
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Four to six years of related retail banking experience
- Six to eight years Business Banking experience is acceptable if no degree earned.
- Proficient knowledge of banking products, specifically small business
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office products
- Excellent communication, analytical, customer service, and organizational skills
- Ability to work effectively with all levels of personnel
- Strong presentation and training skills
ESSENTIAL MENTAL & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to work under stress and meet deadlines
- Ability to travel
- Ability to lift/move/carry approximately 20 pounds if required to perform the essential job functions.
