Job Summary:
Reporting to the Director - Quality and Continuous Improvement the Sr. Quality and Continuous Improvement Engineer works as part of a team to build and maintain Fluence’s quality system. They lead continuous improvement projects, as needed, utilizing their knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies such as Lean, Kaizens or Six Sigma
Key Responsibilities:
•Lead process improvements through data-driven problem solving and continuous improvement activities in multiple areas of the company
•Analyze data from multiple sources related to quality performance and prepare various management reports using Excel, PowerPoint or other analytical tools.  Make recommendations on improvement actions to take based on interpretation of the data
•Lead\support root cause analysis teams using the 8D methodology in order to drive good corrective and preventative actions
•Train employees on 8D methodology, root cause analysis tools and lean concepts related to process improvement
•Participate and\or lead internal quality audits
•Create, update and improve various process documentation typically using Word, Visio and SharePoint
•Lead various kaizen and other improvement projects in multiple area of the company

Ability to travel up to 25%, domestic and international.

Qualifications:
•Minimum of a B.S. in Engineering or other STEM degree field
•8+ years of experience in a Quality Engineer role, preferable with at least 2 yrs in a manufacturing environment.
•Experience leading teams in corrective action investigations, preferably using the 8D methodology
•Experience leading internal audit under an ISO 9001 and\or ISO 14001 management system
•Experience in gathering process related information and translating that information into easy-to-understand process documents. This should include the use of swim lane flowcharts and RACI diagrams
•Experience with risk management tools such as FMEA and PFMEA
•Previous experience leading kaizen teams using lean tools such as value stream mapping, waste elimination and SIPOC development
•Experience in training groups on new processes and procedure, preferably with some experience in training quality or continuous improvement tools
•Understanding of basis statistical methods and techniques such as process capability, hypothesis testing, regression and reliability models
•Experience with supplier quality and related tools such as PPAP, SCAR

Additional desirable skills:
•American Society of Quality, Certified Quality Engineer certification
•Six Sigma Green, Black Belt, or comparable certification
•Experience using TapRoot
•SME Lean Cert Bronze certification or comparable certification
•Experience in battery energy storage, renewable energy or electro-mechanical related industries
