Position Summary: 

Delivers Home Oxygen and Respiratory Care equipment. Provides timely delivery of HME and Oxygen cylinders. Troubleshoots and performs equipment repair and checks to assure equipment is clean and functioning before delivery. Observes and communicates pertinent patient information to the Home Oxygen Therapist or immediate supervisor. Maintains HME vehicle in a clean and orderly condition. Checks and maintains Home Oxygen inventory. Completes all required paperwork fully and in a timely manner. Demonstrates commitment to customer service by building effective working relationships and treating others with respect, interacting with customers (Patients, co-workers and visitors) in a warm and friendly way, taking immediate action to meet customer needs or requests, listening to understand what customers have to say. Works with patient’s physician to assure appropriateness of oxygen equipment. Performs in-home assessment of environment for safety issues as required by Joint Commission (i.e., electrical requirements, fire safety, trip and fall hazards). Maintains infection control procedures. Educates patients on oxygen usage, equipment operation, and potential hazards.

Minimum Qualifications:

Required

  • High School Diploma
  • Drivers License
  • Current Heartsaver through American Heart Association within 30 days of hire.
  • Commercial Drivers License required within 180 days of hire.
  • If Team Lead:
  • Training in Oxygen concentrator repair.
  • Training and certification in Transfill operation.

Preferred

  • CDL

In addition to the essential functions of the job listed below, employees must have on-time completion of all required education as assigned per DNV requirements, Bozeman Health policy, and other registry requirements.

  • Delivers products and equipment used in home respiratory care
  • Operates and maintains equipment pertinent to home respiratory care+
  • Trained and operates Oxygen Transfill Station
  • Responsible for the repair and maintenance of Home o2 equipment.
  • Oversees the operation of the Transfill operation.
  • Oversees the tracking of inventory in the TIMS system.
  • Delivers products and equipment used in home respiratory care
  • Operates and maintains equipment pertinent to home respiratory care

Physical Requirements

  • Lifting, Pushing, and Pulling: Lift 30 pounds of weight (pick up supplies, move equipment, etc.) Carry equipment/supplies.
  • Extended Hours: The role may involve working for extended periods, requiring sitting, walking, or standing for eight or more hours daily.
  • Flexible Schedule: The position may necessitate working beyond a standard 40-hour workweek, including weekends and after-hours shifts
  • On-Call Availability: On-call work may be required to respond promptly to organizational, patient, or employee needs
  • Effective Communication: Proficient in effective communication, both in person and through various technologies
  • Handling Challenging Situations: The role may involve dealing with upset individuals, requiring the ability to de-escalate situations and work effectively with frustrated patients, families, or employees

Tasks Include Potential Exposure: Job tasks may involve exposure to:

  • Bloodborne pathogens, such as blood, bodily fluids, or tissues.
  • Radiation in settings where medical imaging procedures are performed
  • Various chemicals and medications used in healthcare settings. Job tasks may involve handling cleaning products, disinfectants, and other substances.
  • Infectious diseases due to contact with patients in areas that may have contagious illnesses
