Retail Banking Services (RBS) is the public face of CommBank, delivering a seamless banking experience for the future, to our 10 million + personal and small business customers. The Guidance and Investing Crew is responsible for the strategy and profitable growth of the Commonwealth Bank’s digital guidance and retail investment products.

The Essential Super squad is responsible helping everyday Australians accelerate their wealth creation journey through the usage of the their direct superannuation. This includes product monitoring, activation, engagement, product strategy, product design and development.

Do work that matters

Reporting directly to the Chapter Lead, Wealth and Private and indirectly to the Product Owner, Essential Super, you will be responsible for creating and implementing product strategies to meet diverse customer needs and achieve business targets. You will work in a cross functional squad as a product management leader to drive outcomes that deliver disproportionate value, seek out and overcome obstacles, effectively manage strategic partnerships, equip the squad with data to aid better judgement, provide thought leadership and inspire others to do the same.

You will support the squad with day to day and strategic initiatives. These would cover but not be limited to –

  • Customer research and data analysis to support ideation activities
  • User Story creation and Backlog management
  • Be able to interface in and support the Engineers with requirements gathering and Delivery activity so should show an interest / have experience in Digital (Web and Native)
  • Understanding of the DevSecOp’s model
  • Be able to interface in and lead activities with our Superannuation Partner

On any given day you will

  • Staying abreast of external superannuation market trends, regulations and innovations to deliver a market leading product and digital customer experiences.
  • Define and deliver the product and customer roadmap manage the squad’s performance and velocity to deliver defined objectives.
  • Help facilitate team ceremonies such as squad stand-ups, planning and project prioritisation.
  • Be accountable for developing and monitoring the end-to-end product risk and control environment. This includes robust product governance, identification of issues, escalation and swift resolution of problem records; including remediation and superannuation regulatory responses.
  • Work in conjunction with relevant stakeholders and superannuation partner, to plan the promotional effort for launching and growing new products and digital features.
  • Nurture and expand strategic superannuation partnership to seek out and remove obstacles creating strong alignment and efficiency.
  • Management of cross crew and business priorities, including partnering and fostering relationships with both CommSec and Colonial First State.
  • Monitor the outcomes of initiatives to ensure they are as expected and support the desired strategic intent.
  • Cultivate and manage the capabilities within the Product and Solutions Chapter through coaching and on-the-job development.
  • Drive consistency of tooling and methodologies within the Chapter
  • Play a leading role across the broader Guidance and Investing Crew, fostering collaborative culture and ensuring all CBA values are demonstrated at all times
  • Support and drive initiatives required in the wider Guidance and Investing Crew when required

We’re interested in hearing from people who have

  • Experience in managing Banking and/or Superannuation Products with ownership of P&L
  • Demonstrated leadership and management experience, in driving digital channel initiatives
  • Excellent strategic thinking and development skills, including a structured approach to problem solving
  • Experience approaching problems with a customer centric angle
  • Proven track record of strong performance delivery Ability to think analytically and use data and insights to make decisions
  • Demonstrated ability to take ownership of work and deliver outcomes in ambiguous or challenging environment
  • Strong Communication and Influencing skills
  • Strong Stakeholder Engagement Skills
  • Agile trained or experience in leading ceremonies and project tracking platforms (JIRA)
