Leidos is seeking a university student to join our Orland-based team as a Software Development Intern supporting our application integration efforts. This internship offers an opportunity to work with experienced software engineers, system architects, and data modelers as they design and develop tools and techniques for connecting large enterprise systems. You will gain experience working with industry-standard HR and ERP systems as well as modern, cutting-edge AI/ML toolsets. We welcome applicants from a variety of academic backgrounds who have strong interest or experience developing the software that binds a large organization together. This role emphasizes self-guided research, hands-on prototype development.

Primary Responsibilities

• Support software development teams in writing, debugging, and analyzing code in a variety of settings (web code, API interfaces, data integration pipelines, test code, and more)
• Research new tools, techniques, code libraries, etc. to discover what they do, how they are used, and what potential value they may provide the organization
• Develop prototype applications to demonstrate new technologies

Basic Qualifications

• U.S. citizenship
• Actively enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program at an accredited university
• Strong interest in or exposure to software or database development
• Familiarity with one or more modern programming languages (Python, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript/TypeScript, etc.)

Preferred Qualifications

• Coursework, projects or hands-on experience in areas such as:
  • API Development
  • Data engineering or data wrangling
  • Database scripting (MySQL, PL-SQL, T-SQL, stored procedure development, etc.)
• Creative problem-solving skills and eagerness to work on exploratory efforts

Pay Range $48,100.00 - $86,950.00
