Technical Business Development Manager

Our Brea, CA business unit is looking for a Technical Business Development Manager to join their team! As the BD Manager, you will evaluate, recommend and manage new strategic business opportunities, initiatives, mergers, acquisitions, partnerships, alliances and/or joint ventures. You will conduct and oversee market analysis, monitor competitive activity, and identify customer needs. You may also provide leadership in the planning, designing, due diligence, and implementation of strategic business objectives.

Location: Brea, CA

Salary: $100,000 – $130,000

Your Challenge:

  • Manage all technical aspects of customer RFP/RFI responses, work with team to create budgetary and firm price proposals, with application engineering applied when needed

  • Assist in review of detailed specifications to ensure Curtiss-Wright complies with the customer's technical requirements. Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and specifications reports

  • Draft proposals with sufficient technical content using engineering resources within Curtiss-Wright

  • Manage a running tally of opportunities, projects, and prospects for management review

  • Research and analyze customer designs, specifications, manuals, and other data to evaluate the feasibility, cost, and maintenance requirements of designs or applications

  • Study processes to determine where and how application of equipment can be made

  • Specify system components or direct modification of products to ensure conformance with engineering design and performance specifications

  • Assist in developing the structural design of products and provide feedback to design engineers on customer problems and needs.

  • Help plan, organize, and develop sales strategies to grow product sales

  • Liaise directly with customers and potential customers in a technical capacity in order to develop new sales

  • Create high level sales forecasts based on market intelligence, trends, and customer feedback

  • Development of new product lines and teaming partners based on market needs

What You Bring:

  • 5-8 years of engineering or technical sales experience or related field.

  • Bachelor's degree in an Engineering or other related technical discipline from an accredited institution.

  • Strong Microsoft Office skills.

  • Ability to work independently, under pressure and within tight deadlines.

  • Excellent presentation, verbal, interpersonal and written communication skills.

  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks to meet strict deadlines.

  • Problem solving and analytical skills.
