About the team
We are looking for a strong Senior Manager who can drive the design, architecture & delivery of our next-generation Catalog platform - keeping scalability, robustness, and accuracy aspects in focus. The platforms you build will be used by the Walmart eCommerce across multiple countries with each of them being a multi-billion-dollar business for Walmart. You will be challenged with unparalleled complex business problems that span across multiple countries and cater to various workflows and the diverse nature of the operations within a warehouse across countries
What You’ll Do
Lead a team of Top Notch Engineers to successfully build and deploy cutting-edge platforms for the Omni Supply Chain.
Focus on goal completion and support teams to overcome the challenges in implementation.
Work with senior leadership to chart out the future roadmap of the products.
Improve, optimize, and identify opportunities for efficient software development processes.
Hire, Develop, and Retain a strong team of software engineers.
Exhibit strong leadership and communication skills to collaborate with product, engineering, and management teams across different geographic locations.
Promote and support company policies, procedures, mission, values, and standards of ethics and integrity.
Interact with Walmart engineering teams across geographies to leverage expertise and contribute to the tech community.
You will come up with quality, best practices, and other Non-functional standards, and guide the teams to adhere to the standards.
What You’ll bring
Bachelor's/master’s degree in computer science, engineering, or related field.
11 years in 16 years of relevant experience in building highly resilient, highly scalable systems.
Supply chain expertise with previous working experience in the Supply chain area is desirable.
Must be able and willing to think and act strategically and tactically.
Strong oral and written communication skills are crucial.
3+ years of leadership/management experience with a team of 10+ engineers.
A good understanding of CS Fundamentals, Microservices, Data Structures, Algorithms, and Problem Solving.
Hands-on experience with Java (Must have) and experience working in cloud-based solutions is desirable.
Should be hands-on writing/reviewing design and code.
Understand the product and project management space with Agile methodologies.
CI/CD development environments/tools: Git, Maven, Jenkins.
Demonstrated end-to-end ownership for the development and design of at least one cloud-based project - Experience in building microservices, data pipelines, and extensible platforms is desirable.
Strong desire to drive change, and ability to adapt to change quickly. Proficient in new and emerging technologies.
Ability to balance the long-term "big picture" and short-term implications of design decisions.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills - including negotiation, facilitation, and consensus-building skills; ability to influence and persuade, without direct control.
Mentoring/coaching Senior staff engineers and other Engineers.
Focus on reusability, frameworks, patterns, and configuration tools for faster development.
