Summary of Job:

The Quality Manager is responsible for managing Moog Australia’s Quality Management System (QMS) to ensure compliance to AS9100 and AS9110, business, customer, and regulatory requirements. This includes establishing, maintaining, and managing compliance to policies, procedures, work instructions ,quality records and ensuring the product produced meets the required quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure Moog Australia’s QMS remains compliant to AS9100, AS9110, business, customer, and regulatory requirements
  • Owner of the quality policy, strategy, objectives, and processes in day-to-day work
  • Generate, review and implement QMS policies, procedures, work instructions and other documents
  • Oversee key quality activities including:
    • Management, identification and implementation of Corrective Actions and Preventative Actions
    • Management of nonconforming material in accordance with the Non-Conformance Report (NCR) processes to ensure that all nonconforming material is identified, segregated, and reported
    • Ensure that the calibration of equipment is effectively maintained
  • Lead management reviews to ensure quality system compliance
  • Regularly report on the performance of company quality metrics and corrective and preventative actions
  • Ensure implementation, maintenance, and operation of an effective calibration system
  • Lead and guide initiatives in continuous improvement and organisational excellence using suitable lean activities
  • Lead external, internal and supplier quality audits
  • Ensure audits are timely, effective and of value to the business
  • Support supplier quality management
  • Lead quality improvement initiatives with sub-contractors and suppliers

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelors Degree in Engineering or related field
  • ASQ Quality Manager, Certified Quality Engineer and/or Auditor Certification (advantageous)
  • AS9100 Internal Auditor (advantageous)
  • AS9110 Internal Auditor (advantageous)
  • Lean Green or Black Belt (advantageous)

Work Experience: 

  • 5+ years’ experience leading and managing quality function in the medical device, aviation, defence and/or automotive field
  • Knowledge of QSR, ISO9001, AS/EN9100, AS9110 Standards and Lean Manufacturing Principles

Eligibility:

  • Must be an Australian citizen and eligible to obtain and maintain minimum the required Australian security clearance. Continued employment beyond the six‑month probationary period is conditional on being granted the appropriate clearance.
  • Must satisfy police checks and employment screening verification including employment reference checks
  • Must be able to access information controlled under the US International Traffic of Arms Regulation (ITAR) which in some circumstances can place limitations on persons who hold dual nationality, permanent residency or are former nationals of certain countries as per ITAR 126.1
