Retail Banking Services (RBS) provides simple, convenient and affordable banking and general insurance products and services to personal and private bank customers, helping them manage their everyday banking needs, buy a home, protect their assets or invest for the future.
In the Customer Engagement & Digital team within RBS, we are responsible for leading our retail end-to-end digital-first customer experience strategy, driving innovation, improving customer engagement and creating new business opportunities through partnerships, ventures and the Group’s digital ecosystem.
About the role and team
Sitting within the Digital Experience Domains, this is an opportunity to reimagine and drive the digital payments experience in the CommBank App and NetBank. Working within a Crew who is passionate about delivering safe, secure and innovative experiences for moving money.
As a Product Owner your responsibilities will include (but are not limited to):
- Taking ownership of the product roadmap for digital payment experiences across NetBank and the CommBank App, with an approach to build once, use many.
- Lead delivery of digital payment experiences, inspiring your team from ideation to execution and beyond.
- Understand the business Technology Strategy and build experiences aligned to the future vision and capability. Building to ensure resiliency and availability.
- Acting as the voice of the business and customer and translate this for the team to coordinate a ‘one-team’ approach to problem solving.
- Providing clear lines of communication with our stakeholders on the product roadmap and prioritisation decisions.
- Identifying, articulating and managing risks and compliance across streams of work.
- Incorporating design thinking and analytics to inform product design.
- Leading and developing the product roadmap, and engagement with senior stakeholders/ business units to manage the delivery of product roadmap.
- Leading the squad day-to-day to deliver change and lifecycle activities.
- Maintaining a healthy prioritised Backlog to deliver business and customer outcomes.
- Managing senior business and technical stakeholders to ensure that prioritisation is understood and agreed to.
- Managing the squad’s performance to defined objectives including OKR tracking, etc.
- Being accountable for addressing impediments, driving decisions, and resolving escalations.
- Understand how to measure experience initiatives, using data and insights to inform optimisation and future opportunities.
We’re interested in hearing from people who are:
- Strong experience as a Product Owner with a clear knowledge of payments and experience leading the delivery of digital payments experiences. Financial services experience preferred.
- Experience designing and executing digital experiences to deliver business and customer value.
- Deeply passionate and curious about the ways our customers interact with our different channels, and champion the voice of our customers at every possible chance.
- Will apply a strong level of pragmatism to balance strategic initiatives with keep-the-lights-on work.
- Are passionate about building digital payment experiences, and passionate about driving the next evolution of our digital architecture.
- Are experienced in definition of product roadmaps, delivery of product vision.
- Proven experience in influencing work and priorities through stakeholders
- Proven experience leading teams
- Experience with Agile methodology, working within an Agile Matrix would be ideal.
- Prior experience as a product owner in this space would be highly desirable, but not a must.
